Duchess of Cambridge February Photo Challenge
Feb 27: One photo of Catherine and Charlotte matching.

Albert and Paola’s Christmas reply
I’m so glad this finally arrived! I’ve been waiting for a while.
It was hard to get a picture of the writing because it’s fairly light. Their signatures are also light, almost like the printer was running out of ink. But it basically says “Best wishes for a new year 2017.” It is written in Dutch, French, and German, plus Italian.
The picture is printed on the opposite side. It isn’t on real photo paper, just normal paper, so the quality isn’t as high. It is still very lovely and I just adore them with little Anna Astrid.
The inside of the envelope is purple, similar style to Paola’s birthday reply. The photo kind of mutes it. It’s very bright, almost fuschia color.
I thought this reply was taking a longer time than usual, but I kind of brushed it off. I’m impatient and things just happen. But on the front it is postmarked January 13, 2017. I find this extremely odd. I have two theories. First, this was sent economy (regular mail). I highly doubt that, though. Especially since it is postmarked the same as Philippe and Mathilde, which came priority. Second, they wrote my address a little weird and put my apartment number on the same line as my building address. I’m thinking this threw off the mailman and he delivered it to the front office and it took them a while to get through the mail and see this wasn’t theirs. But even then it’s been over a month. I think they would have seen it. But the people at the office kind of suck (as does our mailman) so I wouldn’t be surprised.
Regardless, it’s finally here. I’m hanging this one up I think. I only have a couple Christmas responses left. It’s always weird to get them past January. But I’ll take them!

Belgium Royal Family, always a crowd pleaser.
It was a busy day for royal mail today.
One of the responses was in the top three I wait for at Christmas; The Belgian Royal Family.
I love this photo. I think it’s interesting they choose one with Emmanuel not looking at the camera. It’s cute but also odd I think. As my roommate said, “you’d think they could take another one. You’d think the King has that kind of power.” I also wish Eleonore in red to match.
My card is also folded weird. It’s not even and you can see the top peeking out when it’s closed. It bugs me a little, but not much.
The envelope had an embossed monogram on it. I don’t remember if they had that last year, but I’m super impressed so I doubt it. Unless I never noticed, which is entirely possible. From the stamped date it only took about a week to get here. Not to shabby.

With this card my holy trifecta is complete! (Monaco, Spain, and Belgium are my favorites).
I LOVE this card. The picture is so cute. I love Leonor’s jumper. Very Christmas-y. I also love whatever printing technique they use because the message and signatures always look so real. Does anyone know who wrote the handwritten message?
I love Leonor’s and Sofia’s signatures. They always look so professional. Wish my handwriting was that good.
The message is also different than last year’s. I like when they mix it up.

One of the most boring replies came today. It’s the exact same as last year’s reply. I debated not even sending one to Mary and Fred but I figured if I didn’t I’d regret it. But I don’t think I’ll be writing to them next year.
They did send it priority however. Which is new. I’m hoping the next step is pictures.
