it’s a daunting task, she jokes ( mostly to herself because let’s face it, tiffany’s biggest fan when it comes to her lame jokes is herself, and possibly her only fan in that case ) but she had taken comfort in the fact that she can lump it together with the other decorations, sneakily hiding it among the others on both days of decorating the tree and it’s far easier than continuing to tote around more than one of each type of hot cocoa ornament— which, yes, she tried but failed within a few hours. stamina doesn’t have much to say about strength when it comes to tiffany. maybe it’s time to go back to the gym instead of worshiping yoga for its balance and mostly definitely blissful peace of mind. 

she was too ambitious to be entirely honest, but this time is different. she can easily carry one of all three of the ornaments to track down a certain somebody. one of her best friends. most specifically, her kt best friend and sunbae. even if taeyeon never insisted on the title, the truth is that tiffany could hardly forget it when taeyeon practically drips with talent when she performs and especially when she sings. 

finding taeyeon is easy but it’s always figuring out how to interrupt taeyeon that’s the hardest. for anyone who hears her sing, it’d be hard to stop her but tiffany’s far too eager to share her gifts after receiving her own from the younger. “taetae ~ take your pick!” she practically ambushes the girl as soon as she takes a break. “oh,” and there’s an entirely separate bag she pulls an ornament out of now, boxed in pale pink, white, and gold. in comparison, the wrapping isn’t her best. it’s lazy for her standards but it was because it was completely done by her. these gifts, the ones individually personalized for each trainee, she wanted to work on her own head to toe, start to finish.

taeyeon’s name dons the label and tiffany smiles almost bashfully as she hands it over. spirals of cut and curled music sheets are settled neatly with white loose feathers with only the note to explain. in neat, bubbly writing it reads: 

taetae!!       there’s never any gift giving without explanation from me, right? okay, maybe not your first birthday but that was different. so is this. i’m starting to ramble again, oops ㅋㅋㅋ  but i hope it’s easy to understand. you’re an angel of music! ㅋㅋ okay, maybe that’s not that easy to guess but it’s not easy to fit an angel into one of these ornaments! so feathers will have to do until i figure out how. maybe next yearㅋ when you sing, it’s like you’re eating the cd. you know that slang, right? if not, then think of it as you’re eating the music sheets but better. because no matter how it’s written, you always sing it better. in a way that can’t be easily imagined or jotted down, you sing like an angel. i hope you never forget that. merry christmas boo! happy holidays!                                                                                                                                  ♥, tiffany

but it’s merely the gifts she’s given most of the other trainees too. taeyeon has her own individual gifts from tiffany and she can’t let it slip by. “we didn’t really get a chance to go christmas shopping this year like we have before so … “ the gift basket is filled with an assortment of scarves to keep the younger warm, just as tiffany had scolded her about in the past but there’s also packets of microwave popcorn and a few dvds, the one tiffany is most excited about being captain america: civil war. “for a movie night, because we need more of those together. i hope you like everything, tae. i really loved my gift. i’m only sorry i can’t do something like that for you too but trust me, i did not get that artistic talent in my family.”

There’s little that people can count on to be as constant in the world, but Taeyeon can always count on Tiffany to make her presence known around her.  The older girl was always finding her in the middle of practicing and would end up surprising her just as she let her guard down from singing.  It was Christmastime, she really should have been expecting it, but she hadn’t quite grabbed onto the notion that soon she would have been presented with gifts from Tiffany.  

She smiles taking the package, not quite knowing what it was that she had chosen to give to her, but was pleasantly surprised at the contents of the package.  “Oh!  This is really pretty~”  she said, taking the note and reading it to get a further idea of the intent of what it was supposed to be.  “Thank you very much, Tiffany. I can tell that you put a lot of work into this.” she smiles at it again before giving her a hug.  “We’ll definitely have to have a movie night again soon.  It’s been a long time since we have.  And you don’t have to be sorry about anything, your gift was perfect, thank you.”

backdated: around christmastime

she leaves a small tupperware container outside of seulgi’s doorstep with the hopes that no one would steal it before seulgi returned home. inside were cute cookies in the different shapes decorated in white icing with a varying designs of melted snowmen. on the lid, a note was attached, secured to it with a piece of clear tape.

Coming home from a long day of practicing at Sphere, which, of course, took no time off for the Christmas holiday, Seulgi almost didn’t notice the package, only just barely finding it before she tripped over it, in of itself was a feat that she hadn’t, the way she was dragging.

Picking it up, she entered the apartment, gently patting Roo’s head as the dog came to meet her at the door, smiling at the note as she read it while taking her shoes and jacket off.  Rose was always sweet and Seulgi made a mental note as she sat the cookies on the coffee table and pulled one out to look at them.  “How cute!” she grinned and took a selfie of her holding one up by her face and sending it to the other girl with a thank you and that she hoped they could become closer soon too.

Upon his return to Korea from Manila, Johnny immediately sets out on delivering the presents he got from home. After all, he doesn’t want his parents’ hotel room to be filled with them for much longer. His mother takes pity on him and helps wrap those gifts before he labels them for their intended recipient. He then has them shipped off to their intended recipients. 

Dear Seulgi,

Merry Christmas! Since I’m late, I got you some presents from my trip back home.

If the pendant isn’t your style, blame my mother for choosing it.

I thought I’d throw in something else. These things are milk and flour candy called polvoron which my parents and I made. And I am proud to say, those are actually tasty. /insert smug grin/

Coming home from practice, Seulgi was surprised to find herself looking at a package addressed to her. She hadn’t ordered anything, nor was she really expecting anything, so she was quite curious to see what it was.  She picked up the package and opened it up, surprised to find that inside was a gift from Johnny!  She opened it up, her mouth dropping open slightly at the item inside.  She couldn’t believe he had bought something like that for her, but she was very happy with it.
