If only Jesus had an entire parable devoted to the Good Samaritan.
"Do onto others" is empathy. It is how you build healthy relationships and a successful society.
Republicans failed. Bigly.

If I was Satan, my ideal society would look a lot like the United States.
We live in a system where doing evil is rewarded and doing good is punished. The accumulation of wealth has become a substitute for morality. If a person ruins a million lives to enrich himself, he’s not called an unrepentant monster, he’s savvy. As if it takes any intelligence to sell your soul.
Human beings have been reduced to the quanta of dollars and cents. Every second of your life is monetized by someone else. Nothing is so sacred that it can’t be appraised and sold at a steep markup. Who can afford to do good in a world like that?
Everyone is living for themselves. No one owes each other anything. Truth is just as much a commodity as everything else, and demand is rock-bottom. Who has time to save someone else when everyone is a second away from drowning?
No one has the right to life. The homeless, the starving, the sick, the undocumented, they’re all expected to pay for the privilege of existence. God forbid you sleep without the landlord’s permission, or take what you need to survive, or cross an imaginary line hoping for a better life. These things are illegal, but the ones who put their fellow human beings on death’s door have more wealth than they could ever conceivably use.
God’s name is only uttered to justify all of this. Preachers in gilded temples commit blasphemy every Sunday in this country. The real God, the real Christ, are hated in this country. There are few churches in America that would not gleefully crucify Jesus himself if he spoke to them. Taking the Lord’s name in vain is the most American pastime there is.
Sometimes I wonder if this isn’t the most depraved nation to ever blight the earth. God have mercy on us all.

I actually would love it if a christofacist did try to explain why all the Trump messiah spam isn't idolatry, actually.
White Jesus is already barely not idolatry. White Jesus with an American flag and guns absolutely crosses the line into idolatry-- as it's very much imposing non-biblical ideology into Jesus's image. Depicting a man that is categorically not Jesus that way is taking that to an extent the Bible explicitly forbids. This is why in a lot of classical paintings, unless what a depiction of an actual piece of biblical canon, Jesus was typically represented as a lamb. It was a deliberate choice to represent the holy significance of Jesus as the Lamb of God. You know the one who 'takes away the sins of the world. Have mercy on us?' So his likeness could not be misinterpreted or appropriated easily. Because that would be idolatry.
This is why Musliums consider it blasphemous to depict the prophet Muhammad at all by the way. So you can't be fucking around with his likeness like this. Which, you know-- I think it's fair to point out at this stage, they did have a point.
I'm a pagan, by the way. So if I'm telling you you're doing an idolatry, you're doing an idolatry.
“As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion.” - John Adams (founding father) treaty of Tripoli 1797 expressing of no hostility towards Islamic countries.

Christofascism is a failure of ideas, devoid of rational thought. It's an ideology of ignorance.
