Loved this fast paced thriller! 5of5. John Smith & Kelsey are on the run. John has an awesome skill set to keep them alive. Hope to read more books w/ #johnsmith #killfile #christopherFarnsworth out 8/9/16 #williamMorrow
Red, White & Blood by Christopher Farnsworth
Even Nathaniel Cade is worried this time.
The President is on the campaign trail when he receives a threat from the Boogeyman - the only being Cade has killed that refuses to stay dead. So what will our hero do, what will he do when the Commander in Chief insists on continuing his campaign for the White House - through all hours of night and day? With bodies piling up at each stop, Zach and Nathaniel have to move before the Boogeyman strikes again!
One of the first things Farnsworth got asked at his appearance at Murder by the Book was, "When will the next one be out?" His responded that he had just finished writing a stand alone novel and he was in the process of outlining the next Cade book. At the time, that answer seemed perfectly acceptable, but now I want to chain him to a desk until he's finished writing the next book.
The last 10 pages of this book totally blew my mind!!!!!!
Come on, Christopher Farnsworth! You don't really need to eat, sleep or spend time with you family do you???? WRITE MY BOOK!!!!!!!!
Meeting Christopher Farnsworth
As we all know I totally dork out for my authors. I get weak in the knees for Robert Crais, I bounce around on pins and needles waiting to see Gail Carriger and I race to my book store when I know Lee Child is in town, but I must tell you meeting Christopher Farnsworth today, took my love of his work to a whole new level.
He is not showy or glamorous, but a quiet man who showed genuine appreciation to each person who asked for his signature. It was not a large crowd, but he took to the time to chat with each of his fans on whatever topic suited them. In my case, it was his daughters and if he had caught Margot Adler's review of Pursuit of Darkness by Jeff Gillenkirk, in which Bolod Oath was mentioned.
But honestly, my favorite moments were anytime he dorked out about a topic. There was an excellent tangent about the economics of comic books and a description of a very enthusiastic first meeting with a movie producer of whom he is a fan. It was very refreshing to know that someone who makes me a little tongue tied, reacts the same way I do when in front of famous person.
His genuine love for his work tickled my funny bone at times and touched my heart at others. I can't wait until I get to see him again.
I loved meeting you, Mr. Farnsworth! Keep up the good work!
Hey Ya'll! I just saw this review on NPR for Pursuit of Darkness by Jeff Gillenkirk. It centers around a vampire in Washington politics. Hmm...who does that sound like? Nathaniel Cade, maybe. Just might have to check this one out!
