judging @chrjisu at a coffee shop
typically, days that yul decides to work at a coffee shop instead of the comfort of his home or the office are pretty enjoyable. it’s nice to be surrounded by a different busy type of atmosphere when he wants to get work done without the feeling of being pressed on time like the office does. or feeling trapped considering that the past three years have been constant days in the apartment before shia began preschool.
the air isn’t too stiff and if he has a change of heart, it’s always easy to find another coffee shop nearby that might offer more to help him get work done. a work colleague had actually suggested today’s particular spot, stating that the vibe and menu they offered was pretty popular of late. always one to try new places, yul had no qualms checking it out for the day.
of course… the one day that yul decided to visit to get some research done, had to be the one day he forgot his pair of earphones. the only reason he decided to stay after realizing he had forgotten them had simply been because he had no meetings or phone calls scheduled for the day.
aside from that, things had been going fairly smoothly. that is until that one female came in.
yul hadn’t paid much attention when she first came, hearing a bit of commotion with those settled around him. he figured it must have been because she was dressed out of the ordinary or a sort of local celebrity. after taking a glance to see what all the fuss was about, yul figured it was the former.
looks just like any regular everyday person…
chances of her being a celebrity? well… yul could really care less.
however, after hearing the loud conversation she had been having with what seemed to be fan for a grueling forty minutes yul was losing his last nerve. their voices weren’t loud enough that you could make out every single thing they were saying, but it was obnoxious enough with the high pitched laughter and squeals to have yul’s brows in a permanent crease for the last ten minutes. his face was starting to feel sore from the frowning.
were all teenagers this inconsiderate nowadays?
unable to focus on his work, yul decided to pack up quickly. of course, anyone’s first reaction would be to just leave but yul was truly baffled by the audacity this young girl had for completely disregarding everyone else within the vicinity.
“excuse me.” yul begins politely, grabbing the stranger’s attention. “don’t you think you should be a bit more considerate of everyone here? the two of you have been talking like you’re the only ones here for the past forty minutes.”
