kim ahri was born as the first child to a loving couple. followed by two boys and another girl, a lot of bystanders called them the ideal family the way they made life look so peaceful. a couple that appeared to be hopelessly in love with children that could do no wrong was enough to make any passerby spare the family a second glance. the consequential attention she received made her uncomfortable but it pleased her parents, so she went along with it. she was a normal child with nothing special about her particular. she picked up a few hobbies and gained interest in a few things like ballet and sports, all of which died out after a couple of months. ahri was on the track to living a predictable life when it was turned upside down. her father had a job opportunity with better benefits overseas, and her family was relocating there for convenience.

The transfer turned out to be the knife in her family, providing more hardships that her parents were not ready to handle. the stress of their jobs and the difference in their new environment wore her parents down, exposing their true selves. the soulmates began picking each other apart, criticizing every minor mistake the other made. ahri catches a couple of snide remarks and inappropriate gestures shared between her parents but thinks nothing of it, as they still paint themselves to be a loving couple outside the house whenever they went out as a family. deep down she believed that this was just a rough patch in her parents’ relationship and they’d get through this because they always preached about how far love can take you. meanwhile, ahri had problems with her school life, struggling to fit in due to her poor english and obvious difference in cultural background. she was labeled an outcast, not having permanent friends. she spent her days sticking to herself and learning how to fit in.
a few years down the line and the situation never got better. while ahri managed to make a couple of friends and quickly become confident in who she was becoming, her parents could no longer find common ground again. the petty bickering over meaningless things developed into loud arguments. her parents couldn’t hold a conversation without it escalating. she should’ve seen it coming with the long nights of listening to the screaming matches between her parents, but the news of a divorce shakes the entire household. ahri along with her siblings are shipped off back to a place they haven’t seen in over a decade. a place they all barely remember.

living with her grandparents in jeonju only a handful of years after moving was the last thing anyone in her family expected. she learned how to fit in quickly this time around, and she found herself in a small friend group of people just like her. people who didn’t exactly know who they were and didn’t have any strict plans for their future. late nights were filled hanging out and roaming the city, and at the suggestion of one friend, they all agree to audition for multiple big-name companies as a joke. expecting nothing out of it, she forgets about the auditions until she gets a call back from a few companies. with seemingly nothing left to lose, she accepts the offer and signs with the first card she pulled from the pile, bc entertainment.
ahri had already gotten halfway there, but being an idol was never something she saw herself becoming. nothing was appealing about the industry besides being famous. however it was something to keep her busy, so she just sucked it up and continued training, trying her best to fill in the empty hole in her life. above average vocals with a knack for dancing and rapping lands ahri in the lineup for bc entertainment’s next girl group after wish. it came as a shock to her considering that she wasn’t the most passionate trainee, but she accepted it like everything in life. this was not the road she expected to find herself on, but it was becoming one she wanted to see the end of because maybe there was just something at the end for her.
