I'm sure that episode 1150 has been discussed on other platforms, but I haven't seen it much on tumblr (the new time has affected reblogs, etc., I think, or maybe my viewing of them). Anyway, manga readers were thrilled to get a frame or two of Bepo (all patched up), calling out "Captain". My Pollyanna take is that Law's just a little off-screen and was also the one patching folks (Bepo) up. He might even be patching up their crew! Likewise, I also took heart from seeing the fake Kid pirates a few chapters/episodes prior. (Chapter 1115 below)

Law's had two covers since 1181 too (although both were Bepo requests!), and starred in an anime short with Luffy.

Even if you watch nothing else from the Elbaph arc, episode 1163 where Robin meets Saul is a must-watch. I felt that the song kicking in at the end ruined it a bit (because Oda hits so hard without these kinds of signposts to direct viewers' feelings), but...Saul and Robin's actions were interspersed into the music and between the reel of Robin-stills, and we also got to see the faces (bar two ) of the Strawhats bawling at the reunion (as was I. Not quite bawling, but I cried throughout that episode). The opening scenes, in the black and white, then shots of red, and filling spaces with obliterating, sumi black? And that's not all. It was masterful. We also saw Luffy's smiling face at the end, and I do have some issues with Luffy, but that scene was really beautiful, showing that he understands how far Robin has come, and how much this reunion was so unexpected, but so badly needed, and that it is ultimately (and I think obviously) a healing scene. It was beautiful. A beautiful episode, keeping in mind the caveats above. (I think that I've lost the synonyms for beautiful).

Episode 1152 is peak. I don't think I stopped crying through most of it. Our dames out there doing it for the greater good and because of what their families have been through: Robin, Atlas, Bonney. The end was amazing. The animators did Bonney proud and the giants proclaiming there are two Nikas and Bonney getting Saturn good for everything he'd done to her mother and father.

Her speech, with the music and animation, was rousing enough too, in the way that stories about heroes and good spirits or gods usually are.

Atlas, as self-sacrificial as any Wano samurai. Jinbei, knowing she had to do it. York, you're a piece of shit. Anyway, Egghead Arc is up there as one of my favourite animated arcs, and 1152 might be my favourite episode (so far, anyway).

Shoutout to Clou D. Clover, too, and Kuma.

And Stussy, wherever you are
