When someone asks how you are feeling
This is Nina and I, two American teens who both have pre-existing conditions. Both our families already struggle with a lot of medical costs and getting proper health care is tough enough. The two of us, as well as billions of other people have pre-existing conditions and everyone should be paying attention to this issue. Lives are at risk here.
Well I didn’t think it was possible but just in one day I’ve heard: •"but you’re too young" •"what’s wrong with her?“ •"isn’t she better yet?” •"I knew someone with the same problem and they’re fine" •"I get headaches too sometimes" •"I know some essential oils that could fix it" •"have you tried acupuncture?“ •"so what’s your issue?” •"when will you be better?“ •"I used to get headaches way worse than any migraine” •"you’re too young to have those problems" •"why don’t the doctors fix it?“ •"so I’ve heard about your medical condition” •"you know what I think would help?“ •"you should drink more water.” •"so what happened? What accident were you in?“ •"it’ll go away eventually.” •"you can’t be sick forever.“ •"I know someone with — and they still do —” •"you should come visit my office I bet we could fix you" •"I hit my head once and I was totally fine.“ •"it must be hard taking care of her”
And 22, yes I counted, 22 strangers trying to pry into my medical information. Someone mark this day down I think it’s a new record. ~Alyssa
I like the nighttime best.. when it’s not too bright and not too loud and everything isn’t as overwhelming as usual. It’s the only time I feel like I can belong outside of my dark little house.
People: Maybe if you slept, you wouldn't be in so much pain Me: *Is in too much pain to sleep*
If you're in pain everyday clap your hands!!!
