SNES or Genesis?
That's actually tough since I never had either growing up. Super Metroid is one of my favorite games ever and the SNES certainly does have a lot more cool games. But the Genesis has Sonic and I adore Genesis Sonic games so much more than basically anything except Metroid that the SNES has to offer. I think Genesis wins.

No. Trading was barred between Gens 2 and 3. I guess you could make your own TPP team with the power of hax or something though.
I'm pretty sure there are hacking programs people have made to bridge the gap between gen 2 and 3.
I'm not sure if some people would consider the TPP pokemon such programs produce the "actual ones" depending on how the process of those programs work though.
