plain tiger butterflies (danaus chrysippus) emerging from chrysalises | source
Moved some chrysalises this morning!
7 Chrysalises total, and 35 Caterpillars (5 of which are hanging)
And I'll probably go out and see how many more tinies I can find later.
My interpretation of the sky dog chrysalis from @xiranjayzhao book iron widow.
( Sooooo the sky dog Tiangou from my very superficial research appears to be depicted a couple different ways for example as a black dog, meteor or oddly a white headed fox? I don’t know how reliable Wikipedia is on the subject. So I decided to base it on a dog breed from China the chow chow. With a ball in its mouth as a reference to the sky dogs eating the sun or moon during eclipses. I don’t think the sky dog was actually depicted in the book we only saw it’s Male pilots who wore a earth-type spirit metal suit so it’s safe to assume that the sky dog is also made of earth-type of spirit metal.)
Tithorea tarricina chrysallis
These chrysalides are golden and look metallic. They belong to the Tithorea tarricina butterfly.
Tigerwing butterflies have golden chrysalises.

For the anonymous ask, this is the “sling” I was talking about. I don’t know if this is what you meant. It is tied around the top leaving the bottom open. Sorry for the bad quality pictures, I only had old photos that I zoomed in on.
