Born in Daegu, Korea, Chu Jiae is an only child that lived with her father. She auditioned for Starlight Entertainment in 2009 at the age of 13 but didn’t start as a trainee until age 14. She met Mijin first and they immediately became friends. She met the others of Iris a few months into being a trainee. She’s in a subunit with MiJin and Y/N called ‘Pupil’.
