Dio realized, after finally getting back on land and being able to flex his new muscles, that he’d never seen how much Jonathan really exercised during the time they’d been apart. Obviously he, Dio, didn’t need to waste his precious time running around like that, making a fool of himself. 

However, it seemed that as weeks went on and he drank his fill of whatever victims he pleased, Jonathan was getting back at him one last time, and his (previously unknown to Dis) slow metabolism took its toll until the vampire began to prefer lazing around and having Ice bring him victims rather than putting in the effort to get up and hunt down the Joestars.

 Maybe the only way to survive is to catch him when he’s already had a fair few meals before you, y’know? He’d sink his fangs into you and, while you’re feeling lightheaded, you hear him making soft noises and resting a hand on his belly, too full on life essence...you could even escape with your life after giving him a nice bellyrub-- not that he wouldn’t pull you back in again eventually.
