American street musician Chuck Deely (62) died in The Hague
The in the Hague living American street musician Chuck Deely died on January 9 at the age of 62 in the Westeinde Hospital. Lots of sad fans share their feelings on his departure on his Facebook page. Chuck was the eldest of three brothers from Detroit (Michigan). Last December, the musician got a severe case of the flu. To compensate him for the loss of income fellow townsman Alexander Spoor launched an aid operation. He collected €4750 for the ill musician. On Tuesday, January 9th, Deely became unwell again and was included in the Westeinde hospital. He died there in the late afternoon of the same day.
Chuck was a familiar face in the center of The Hague. He lived at the Stationsweg from the income he earned with his music in the Grote Marktstraat and Central Station. Since the late nineties Chuck was a familiar feature of the streets of The Hague. He created a daily small music event singing and playing covers by artists including the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan and Neil Young.
