Re: your art ask…
Like…it’s THEM it’s expression and body in motion, your art has so much SOUL, more than any other artist I’ve seen I check back on your blog regularly to see if I’ve missed any of it. Hands down my favorite artist👍
ok im floored like oh my god ur too kind
ITS ME IM FIRST are there any moments from your writing inspired by something that happened to you personally??
This is why you're one of the best people in the fandom, thanks!
And yeah, there are some actually
Let's start with Indi-Quack!
Indiquack??
Yeah I think got some left, how many ounces do y-
Oh, right. The fanfic bingo thing. Sure.
Ahhh, my first DuckTales fanfic! I can’t say “No one else was writing this” because I found out after I first published it that there is a weed-related DuckTales fic on fanfiction dot net and one on AO3 written by Kimberlyeab who I think has written some great DuckTales/The Venture Bros. crossover fanfics. I haven’t read either weed stories cause I don’t want to subconsciously copy what they both have done
And honestly, this whole story came from a high conversation between me and one of my sibs who watches DuckTales. It was about the boys discovering Della smoking weed; we agreed they would be chill about it because Dewey would think she’s cool, Louie also wants to smoke weed and wouldn’t mind, and Huey would be like “Oh you must have heard about the legalization of marijuana” and then Della would be like “Weed is legal now? Cool.”But then something in my brain wanted to take that situation seriously and really think how Della would handle that being a mother now with kids. And voila, Ground Control to Della Duck! was born! Pretty soon I had a bunch of other weed related stories forming in my brain
I put a LOT of research into all of these stories. For one, I want everything to be as accurate as possible, both the characters and the weed. I remember reading a weed related story in another fandom which was funny in its own right, but I disliked that when the characters smoked weed they just became a generic stoner rather than themselves but high. Which isn’t exclusive to that story, but it was something I wanted to avoid. To me Indi-Quack! wouldn’t be as funny or as entertaining if the characters weren’t in character
And yeah, I’m stoner. I occasionally smoke weed when I write these stories. But I still do research on weed (mainly use Leafly) to make sure I’m getting the effects and names right. I think Under the Influence of Gandra Dee! was the most I researched weed for
I try to write in a way for the people who don’t smoke weed can understand what the characters are feeling while the people who do smoke weed will be like “Yeah, that’s accurate”
Besides weed stuff, I did do a lot of research for other things for Indi-Quack!. Stuck in the Middle with DEW! made me do a lot of research on the Woodstock concert; which was honestly pretty fun! I looked up the event schedule, Jimi Hendrix’s set that he played, watched a few live recordings of his performance and listened to any audio I could find (VEVO and other record a-holes make finding Woodstock videos of Jimi hard to get), as well as an interview with Jimi Hendrix on his personal experience at Woodstock. I also looked up any crazy stories that might have happened there (Matilda mentions an incident with The Who in that story. Research paid off!)
Also, there are quite a bit of reference to the 87 show throughout it if you wanna count that as research
Speaking of Stuck in the Middle with DEW!, I remember back when I was writing that I was like so afraid of how people would react to Dewey eating not one, but two edibles and then tripping hard. But it turns out, people loved it!
As for the spite, well there might be a little bit of spite in it. The Dewey story was kinda inspired by the fact that the only Timephoon! stories are angsty stuff about Louie. And the final line of that story is, “That’s cool, I got grounded!”
But I do love Louie but the poor kid might have to wait awhile till he finally smokes weed
And don’t tell anyone but slowly but surely pretty soon EVERYONE in this fandom will embrace the Della and Gandra friendship that I totally know would happen if this show had at least three more seasons! Also some shipping stuff would be nice. It’s like Fenro but both are girls and tops
As for fan art, maybe? I don’t know. Shortly after I posted Do the Write Thing! I found fanart of the Three Caballeros smoking and getting caught in Uncle Scrooge’s garage while Donald is holding a notebook marked song ideas. But honestly, it’s probably just a coincidence. That scene didn’t happen in the story and I’m sure I’m not the only one who has thought of those one-hit wonders smoking in the old man’s garage
Anyway I still can’t believe how much love and attention this fic has gotten. Honestly. I never would have guessed it would have brought me where I am in the fandom to this day. Especially since I found out a good chunk of my readers don’t smoke weed!
Dewey for Bingo!
Oh you mean the best triplet?
I love this little guy!
I’m biased tho because I am a middle child, I love the color blue, and love Ben Schwartz
Honestly I was tempted to put down “didn’t get enough screen time” but I wanna be fair here. He got enough for what we got. Heck he was the first triplet they focused on, and The Spear of Selene is a great story line
Dewey is great whether he’s by himself or being the sidekick/partner to a duo he’s happy to be a part of

8. Game of the year?
I just wanna start off by saying the most advanced consoles I own are a PS4 and a Nintendo Switch and that my laptop is too weak to handle modern games so there are a LOT of contenders for Game of the Year that I did not play
So for my pick I think I'll go with Super Mario Bros. Wonder. Honestly? Great year for Mario, I almost went with the Super Mario RPG remake for being phenomenal update and honestly the definitive way to play the game, but Super Mario Bros. Wonder was a game that was I eager to 100% complete (which I did) because of how fun it was
I love all the levels, the playable characters, the new characters and enemies, the new powerups, it all made me realize just how stagnant the New Super Mario Bros. series had become even though they aren't that bad. So yeah, I'm going with the game that gave me a big stupid grin the entire time I was playing
12. Talk about a new friend you made this year
Oooh certainly! In fact I was hanging out with this new friend of mine when you sent this ask! I met this friend on tinder where we just immediately clicked and just spent a few days messaging each other until one she suggested we meet at the local library so we did just that. I also learned I was the only guy who did not become creepy after a couple of messages
I'll just call her Daj here since I don't wanna give out a full name, but Daj is someone I'm really glad I met. She moved from Arizona to my hometown this year and so far, I'm the only friend she has really made. We've watched a few horror movies together, we saw Saw X in theaters, so because of her I had to go through all the Saw movies (not my thing, but I admit Saw X was a good time). She's into mystery stories, true crime stuff, and board games. We played a couple of board games that she got for Christmas last night and it was a good time!
We played a version of Clue that involved the character performing a heist together where there was a traitor in the group (we both won! i totally called where the culprit hid the real artifact) and a version of Life that had Mario in it. And that was my first time playing The Game of Life so that's cool too
22. Favorite place you visited this year?
I don't travel as much as I want to or should, and usually it's because of family. So I think I'll say Disney World when I visited my sister and brother-in-law. They're Florida residents so that got free passes and know all the ins and outs of the parks and I love going to amusement parks with people who have as much energy as I do. It was a fun visit, I was careful not to spend too much, got some cool stuff, went on a lot of fun rides including some new ones such as the TRON light cycle roller coaster, and now I can say I sat through the Hall of Presidents show...
💌???
💌Is there a favorite trope you like to write?
I blame my parents for showing me the movie Rush Hour at an early age, but I think the buddy-cop formula of putting two unlikely people together due to a circumstance out of their control and turning them into a fun badass duo is something I love doing
And I noticed it’s usually with Gandra. There’s just something very funny about taking the secluded snarky scientist spy who is used to picking out the people she works with and going “Sorry, you’re part of the McDuck family now! That means if one of them wants to adventure with you, you HAVE to adventure them! Those are the rules!”
7, 10, 19! 📚📖
7. is there a series/book that got you into reading?
@christianfoxymc asked me this too! The Bailey School Kids
10. do you have a guilty fav?
The Harvard Lampoon’s Bored of the Rings. Not all the jokes land or have aged well (heck if you buy a modern copy it will included footnotes explaining some of the more outdated references), but as a Lord of the Rings fan I still found this book to be very funny
The writing does a good job imitating Tolkien’s writing as well as riffing on it. Some jokes that I love included the prologue detailing how the Bilbo stand-in got the ring from the Gollum stand-in by pulling a gun on him and then having pity (“It’s a pity I run out of bullets). The members of the Fellowship volunteering one another to join the Fellowship. The Boromir stand-in being well aware that he’s going to die (the book even counts down the pages for him whenever it’s brought up). And anytime the writing is like Frodo looked around the room for any nearby exits. “Frodo stop looking around the room for any nearby exits” said Gandalf
19. most disliked popular books?
Harry Potter
I used to love and read the books growing up as well as the movies. But fuck JK Rowling. Her stories are not as good a I remembered and I honestly preferred the movies growing up
Harry Potter is like the Chick-Fil-A of books. It’s not that good, there are better options out there, and people act like it’s the end of the world when I say I don’t like it
