Heechul heard a knock on the door and jerked his head up from League of Legends. “Huh?” He asked, confused. Who could it be at this late hour? He checked his phone for a missed SMS or a phone call. Nothing. He reluctantly placed his controller down (he was in the middle of a match, after all) and went to answer the door. “Jungsoo-ah?” Heechul blinked. It was past midnight. Leeteuk was never out this late. “Hey, Heechul-ah. Can I come in?” Leeteuk asked, in a weary tone of voice. “Ofcourse, man.” Heechul said, and hit him playfully. Leeteuk shut the door behind them and they walked into Heechul’s living room. Leeteuk sat on one couch and Heechul sat on a couch opposite from him. “You were playing League of Legends, weren’t you?” Leeteuk asked, a slight trace of a smile crossing his lips. “Yep. I was in the middle of a match too. And I was winning!” Heechul yelled, throwing a pillow at Leeteuk, messing with his friend. Leeteuk faintly smiled again. A short silence fell over the living room, an obvious question which had not been asked hung in the air. “Jungsoo-ah, I am surprised you’re out this late.” Heechul said, in an attempt to break the ice. At this, Leeteuk looked to the side and got a look on his face that Heechul had seen hundreds of times by this point. “Oh!” Heechul thought to himself. And sure enough, Leeteuk had tears pouring down his face. Heechul didn’t move or talk. “You’re the only one I can come to when I feel like this.” Leeteuk finally said, through his tears and started to cry harder. “But Jungsoo-ah, what’s wrong?” Heechul asked, concerned but slightly uncomfortable. Leeteuk continued to cry, not answering Heechul’s question. He put his head in his lap and cried and cried. Finally, he stopped and a pin-drop silence took over the living room. Heechul didn’t dare speak. Leeteuk wiped his tears with the back of his hand. His eyes were already swollen and puffy. In a small voice, Leeteuk finally said, “I’m lonely.” Ohhh, Heechul thought to himself. “Jungsoo-ah, this is why Kangin suggested that you get a dog. This is why I suggested on radio that you go out with your friends. You can’t just stay cooped up in that house of yours 24/7 never going out. Anyone would be lonely.” Heechul said, carefully studying his friend’s face. “Eh! I don’t want a dog. You and Kangin know that. And I don’t go out because I don’t want to be photographed. You know that too. Yet..” Leeteuk’s voice trailed off and it was once again silent. Tears started to stream down his face again. “I’m just so lonely living in that house all by myself.” Leeteuk said, staring down at his lap. “You miss the dorms, don’t you?” Heechul said, perfectly understanding his friend. Leeteuk didn’t reply. “You can come live here, if you want.” Leeteuk sharply looked up and threw a pillow at Heechul, which just barely missed his head. “What?!” Heechul yelled. “I’m serious.” He added. “I’m not moving in with you.” Leeteuk said, giving Heechul an incredulous look. Leeteuk then stared at the ground as more tears fell down his face. “I just – I haven’t had a girlfriend in so long..” Leeteuk finally said, pain evident in his voice and written across his face. Heechul stared directly at his friend. “Jungsoo.” Leeteuk looked up at him. “Come here.” Leeteuk walked over to Heechul’s couch, already crying more. Heechul laid down and motioned for Leeteuk to get on top of him. Leeteuk was so upset at that point, he just wanted to be comforted. He got on top of Heechul and just started to sob. Heechul wrapped his arms around his friend and ran his hands up and down Leeteuk’s back, trying to soothe him. But nothing he did was calming Leeteuk down, as more sobs wracked Leeteuk’s body. “Jungsoo-ah, are you that lonely?” Heechul asked, feeling sadness for his friend, wishing he was more like him, that he would go out with his friends, go to clubs, have fun, be free. “Remember when I told you that you can’t cry alone?” Heechul said softly. “I’m glad you came to me.” At that moment, he gently pulled Leeteuk’s head back and put his fingers under his chin so that he would face him. He gently wiped his tears off of his face, as he had done in the past. Then a look passed between them: a memory of all the times they had fought, reconciled, made up, gotten angry, clashed, had fun, acted silly, comforted each other when the other cried, supported the group as the pillars of Super Junior - all the memories came flowing to them and passed between them in a wordless look. Heechul then looked into Leeteuk’s eyes. “I’ll be your girlfriend.” He said, then kissed his hyung. At first, it started out as a tentative, shy kiss. After all, this wasn’t skinship, it wasn’t fanservice. There were no ELF watching. As the kiss continued, it deepened and grew more passionate. Heechul tightly wrapped his arms around Leeteuk’s back and explored his mouth with his tongue and Leeteuk happily kissed him back, pressing his body against his. Leeteuk started to feel the loneliness, the fatigue, the pressure start to leave him. Only Heechul could do that for him. No one else. Finally, after several minutes, Leeteuk broke away. “Heechul-ah, I’m tired.” Leeteuk said, breathlessly. Leeteuk felt uncomfortable. Should he offer to leave? But he just couldn’t bear to be alone in his house. Not tonight. But he also just didn’t know how to ask to stay.. Heechul read his best friend’s mind. “Jungsoo-ah, let’s go to sleep.” Leeteuk slightly blushed. Heechul sat up and so did Leeteuk then Heechul grabbed his hand and led him upstairs to his bedroom. “Teukkie is always so tired,” Heechul said lovingly, admiring how hard Leeteuk has always worked for Super Junior and his work ethic that Heechul has never quite had. Heechul turned off the light by his bed and laid down and motioned for Leeteuk to get on top of him. Leeteuk was shy and grateful and laid down. Heechul whispered in his hyung’s ear, “Just sleep. Don’t think about anything, Jungsoo-ah. For once, clear your mind.” With that, Leeteuk fell asleep blissfully and didn’t feel alone in the world. Heechul held his best friend in his arms and didn’t let go all night. “Whenever you feel alone, Jungsoo-ah, come find me. I’ll always welcome you.” Heechul whispered.
