Congratulations on thirty years, Bouncing Souls! have a couple photos in the Crucial Moments book that came out this spring so I thought I'd share those plus some highlights from the 12+ years I photographed the band.

Luther - The Farmer and Her Wife
I’m so glad I got to see this band before they broke up

Review: Tim Barry - "Lost & Rootless"
I've been a fan of Tim Barry since his days in Avail but never a regular listener. For multiple reasons, I've never been able to consistently follow his career, often coming across a new release …
Lost and Rootless
Tim Barry's new album Lost and Rootless. This man never disappoints. Please don't ever stop making music, Tim.

Chunksaah Records Detail Upcoming FEST 13 Compilation
For those familiar with Bouncing Souls, we all know that Kate is, indeed, great. Further cementing her status as all-around badass, Kate decided to put together a compilation for Chunksaah Records entitled Everyone Knows I Play Favorites …
We wrote this new song and the people over at AltarTV made a video of us playing it live. Check it out.
In an effort to keep this 'blog' of ours updated (possibly interesting to folks who have decided to give us a follow) we're gonna talk about records, bands we like, influenced us, that kick ass and the like.
Maybe this will give you a little more insight into the inner working of what makes a band like us tick...maybe it will just sound weird and really fanboy-ish. Who the fuck knows or cares really, this is all about fun.
Luther - Let's Get You Somewhere Else (Chunksaah Records)
I got this record last year while on a trip to go see some kick ass bands play in New York. I was told that Luther were power pop-punk, kind of like early Get Up Kids. I guess that comparison is pretty fair because this record is a regular visitor to my turntable and does remind me of The Get Up Kids, maybe with a bit of early Fountains of Wayne (pre- Stacy's Mom stuff peeps). I guess I like it because it's familiar and it's done well, it's the kind of record that makes me warm and fuzzy on the inside (yes, i am nothing if not sappy) and I have a soft spot for super sweet pop punk with a little rough around the edge feel.
Don't take my word for it, go over to their bandcamp and have a listen (and if you like it, buy it and love it forever and ever...).
Matt.
