“Wait, Churches! We should talk about our wedding!” Caboose said. Churches stared at him.
“Our What?” Tucker asked.
Loco, who was in his lap, protested that with a disapproving hum.
“Oh, I mean You two’s wedding,“Caboose corrected himself.
Loco nodded and stuck his tongue out at Tucker. Tucker laughed softly. He tried not to take offense.
“...I don’t think we’re going to get married.” Churches said. He looked at Tucker. When he caught Tucker’s hurt expression he started to panic. “Oh shit. I mean-”
“Oh...I… I’m not upset,” Tucker lied. His eyes were already filling up with tears. Caboose tsked at Churches. Loco joined in, casting a disapproving stare at the construct.
Church fell to his knees and pulled Tucker into a tight hug.
“Lavernius! I… I haven’t decided if I want to marry… I mean, I remember – The Director’s memories of marrying Alison and… a lot of their married life was not great. So…”
“Oh...I get it.” Tucker nodded sympathetically. “But we’re not like them,” he added.
“You’re right,” Alpha-church said. “I don’t want to end up like the Director…I don’t want to hurt the people I love anymore.”
