Mu-yeol missed Korea almost as much as he missed So-yeon. Around Korean holidays, or holidays that his home Hollow would’ve celebrated, he missed Korea with his bones. It was hard sometimes to not just take Nemo and go back - and he almost did, twice. The only things stopping him were A. England was safer for magicks, so it was a better place to raise a fairy, and B. his fear of running into his former in-laws and the memory of those terrible first few months after his wife’s murder.
And now, on his thirteenth Chuseok away from the only place he ever considered home, he was missing it more than ever. It didn’t help that Nemo had started school and he’d started anxiety-cooking for Chuseok early this year.
As always it was only him and Nemo celebrating - briefly, he considered texting Henry to see if he and his mother might be doing anything for any of the three days of Chuseok, thought about asking him if he wanted some of the food he’d made because it was far too much for two fairies (and some for Nemo to bring to the DeRosas, like every year), but decided against it.
Just like every year, the first thing on the table Nemo reached for was the colored dasik, to which Mu-yeol tsked and poked his hand with one of his chopsticks.
“Ya, eat some nokdujeon or jjolmyeon first.” He scolded him. Nemo responded by smiling and popping one of the little tea cakes into his mouth. “Aish, i chasik. When you get sick from too much sugar I’m going to let you suffer.”
“But. That was one of the cinnamon and maple syrup ones, I haven’t tried making those yet. Is it good?
