John Frederick “Johnny” Barnes

Capricorn. Phlegmatic. ENFJ. | “That’s why they call them crushes. If they were easy, they’d call them something else.”

Born and raised in Rosewood, the eldest son of Frederick and Helen Barnes, with a sister born three years after him. His father worked as a used car salesman and his mother was a homemaker with a taste for cigarettes, soap operas, and fake nails. He met Linda Anne when they were kids and, almost inevitably, they began dating as teenagers. They were each other’s first loves and basically first, well, everything. 

Johnny fancied himself a rebel, but he also liked to make money doing landscaping work in the summer and working on cars with his father. By the same token, he liked tattoos and cool leather jackets and refurbishing old motorcycles. In fact, he got his first tattoo when he was 17 and it was the name of his beloved Linda Anne in a heart. It was worth the investment, as they eloped in the summer after they graduated from high school. Moving in together just before they started college, they settled into married life almost too easily. But, there was some problems along the way, as nothing is ever perfect, but Johnny and his girl Linda Anne made it work. 

After Johnny graduated from college with his business degree, he tried to make a career in the corporate world in Chicago, but it left him more frustrated and burnout than anything else. Everyone in that world was a shark, and that’s not who Johnny was trying to be. So, the couple moved home to Rosewood, initially living together in his old room in his parents’ basement. He started a business doing landscape design and work, and it took awhile to get off the ground, but once it did, business was good. He and Linda Anne bought their first home and began trying to start a family. But that was easier said than done. They decided to turn to adoption, only to discover they were expecting once they had begun the process of adopting a little boy named Donald. Their daughter Sage was their miracle, but they still had room in their hearts for more, later adopting two more children, Mike and Sara, as infants. 

Fun facts:

His birthday is the day after Christmas. 

His favorite movies generally involve cars. 

Since his first tattoo, he has accrued a few more.

Olivia Cruz has always been a forced to be reckon with. Growing up on the south side of the tracks she was equipped with a natural sense of street smarts and survival. The girl made an art out of staying alive. Olivia didn’t come from much. Her parents had immigrated from Durango, Mexico when they were in their early twenties. Olivia was merely an infant when they came to the land of the ‘free’. Like many, they came for a better life. Her father worked two jobs while her mother stayed home to raise their two children. As Olivia got older her mother began working herself to be able to help her husband meet ends met. Although life wasn’t perfect, Olivia wouldn’t have asked for anything better. She grew up in a family full of love. It was all she needed to get her by. 

as she grew up, olivia’s father realized his daughter had a knack for singing. at such a young age the little girl held so much talent and potential. Louis refused to allow his daughter’s talent to go to waste so whenever they had a chance he would give his daughter the exposure she deserved. she sangs mostly at parties and fiestas. it didn’t turn into super star fame but she was known in their small town for her voice. a gift that ended up being wasted in the long run.

it was no surprise that Olivia found herself placed in the greasers since she lived on the south side. not many girls were apart of the group but she was an exception. The girl knew how to hold her own and was tougher than the toughest boy. Of course she wasn’t as rowdy or a menace to society like the rest of them. Olivia was still respectful - something her parents had taught her to be at a young age. she joined in their fun when it didn’t involve the potential of hurting others or getting arrested. because of that she was able to hold down a job at st. elmo’s as a waitress. the very place were she met her future husband. the moment the two met her life changed and it certainly changed for the better. 

after getting married and welcoming little Diego into their lives Olivia had official left the greaser life far behind. although she kept her job as a waitress, Olivia did all she could to give her three beautiful boys the best possible life. Her sons were her pride and joy. They were all special in their own way. Diego and Perrie of course being the shining stars. Their youngest and oldest held many accomplishments under their belt and brought pride to the Cruz name. Not saying that Scott didn’t. Olivia still loved her son dearly. she had only wished he had the drive and perseverance his brothers did. their family had done so much to give their son’s a good life so they wouldn’t have to struggle the way they did as kids. the fact that scott seemed okay with throwing away all his opportunities was a big slap in the face. 

fast forward a a few years. a night that was supposed to be one of celebration and love turned into tragedy and loss. a few years ago Olivia and her husband lost their lives in an auto mobile accident. they had died on impact, leaving behind their three sons and diego to pick up the pieces of the now broken family.

december 16, 2017. a light. a breath. olivia has somehow found herself alive once again but not in the body she had departed this world in. so much has changed in the years she has been gone. olivia’s in for a a rude awakening once she learns of what’s become of her boys - especially little perrie. it’s certainly going to be an unusual snow after all.

               Serinda Adler- Finn || 19 ||Paulina Singer

Serinda grew up in a family that had money issue’s, but always did the best they could to get by. Her family at one point had money but a series of poor investment decisions seemed to make their funds disappear. Still her family managed to maintain the social connections they once had despite the financial issues

In the meantime, Serinda helped raise her little brother while her parents spent most of their time trying to get back the money they lost through work.

She comes off a little  flighty, but always means well and think’s that everyone could be a friend. She’s an incredibly social young woman even if she was very focused on her future. She doesn’t see a bad bone in anyone’s body and has a tendency to be understanding about everything.

When she wasn’t helping out her family Serinda often had her nose in a book and had a strong affinity for science. Eventually wanting to go into the medical field. 

Met the love of her life on a bad blind date. Serinda was set up with a jerk and Bennett who had been having a drink at the bar came in and helped save her from a terrible dinner. She fell a little head over heels since, Serinda had this idea of fairy tale love and Bennett that day was her hero. He came from money, but spent most of his time traveling, trying to be the next Jack Kerouac. 

Soon the pair got together and lived in a modest home while Serinda went to school to be a nurse and Bennett stayed home with their daughter Behati. Benett was pretty restless and wanted to start travelling again which put a little friction in their life eve if he loved his family dearly. However, any sort of resolution was never to come from it and Bennett died when Behati was still fairly young.

It sent Serinda in a bit of a tailspin trying to make sure the family could stay afloat financially. Her husband hadn’t left much in the way of money after years of avoiding the currency altogether. Serinda spent her days working nights and trying to provide the best for her daughter.  

Facts

Is a bit of a klutz due to her never paying attention to where she’s walking. 

Tends to make bad decisions because she always see’s the good in people and never see’s the danger.

         Elliot Vincent || Nineteen|| Timothee Chalamet

Came from a well off family, but was never given the easy road. Everything he got, Elliot had to work for and no one gave any handouts. It caused Elliot to start to dislike the fact that he came from so much but felt like he had so little. 

As a result he started to rebel and act out his first year of college just because he was essentially on his own for the first time and he never had any sort of experiences like this before

He started to party a lot more and began to forget all about his aspirations to be a lawyer the more he started to let loose. Half the time he woke up unsure of where he was the night before. He didn’t realize he was about to crash and burn soon. 

It was around that time that he met the woman who would soon become his wife, Caris. While he was going through his own teenage rebellion, she was incredibly studious and hard working. She didn’t have it as easy as he did and found his acting out to be immature. Still,he was smitten but had no interest in changing his ways.

Thing’s only shifted when he received news of his own fathers passing. News that rattled him since the last time he had come home, his father had a grim opinion of the way he was living. He continued to crash and burn only realizing that he was living the way that his father looked down on.

 It was sobering and while he went through his grief Caris and him finally found an even ground and began to form a relationship which resulted in his only daughter, Melrose.

The spark of rebellion was just that. A single spark and nothing more. Overtime that part of who Elliot was began to fade and with his wife’s headstrong way of being raised their daughter like she was an ideal woman....of the past. An outdated concept that he essentially cosigned Melrose to a life to. Not realizing that he was damaging his daughter in a similar manner to his own youth. In a way time had a tendency to make people forget the past.

 He is less hands off when it came to parenting and is mostly focused on his work. Even though he appreciates and is proud of how hard his daughter worked at gettign what she wanted and he only wanted the best for her.If he were paying closer attention maybe he’d realize his daughter and him had more in common than he realized and how much she’s changed. Instead hes the typical oblivious father.

ABOUT STELLA:

Stella has always been pretty intense, type A personality, relentlessly organized, competitive. Would have been a great tennis player if it hadn’t been for that injury. 

She married Tori’s father in a drunk quickie Vegas wedding during spring break, everyone thought that they’d be applying for annulment. They make it work, he balances out her more intense traits and gets her to relax. 

They had Tori, their only kid later in their marriage. Stella is a very overbearing parent, she wants to be a cool Mom but also has an itinerary for Tori’s college apps. They love each other though. 

Stella and her husband also have a mutual girlfriend, Tori had no idea (”That’s cool Mom but uh what??”). 

Very good at hair stuff, makes sure Tori always has lunch and a sweater. 

Tori got her sense of humor, also that pep and optimism? Came from her.

FAMILY CONNECTIONS:

Though she came from money herself, Cleo Rowland was never satisfied with what she already had, and so she married into even more money: to Blaine Evans, a business man whom her PR firm had been representing. A conflict of interests, maybe? Perhaps, but that also made it exciting. The kind of lifestyle they lived was something she’d always dreamed of, the penthouse, the top shelf champagne, the day trips to Europe.. Until TROY came along, and then, the others.

As much as Blaine wasn’t fit to be a father, Cleo wasn’t fit to be a mother. They worked too much, leaving their children to their own devices and to be raised by nannies, and furthermore, neither of them even liked children. They simply can’t having them in hopes maybe one of them wouldn’t be a dud. Thats why they’d had their youngest daughter, now eight, thinking it may save their marriage, because without all the luxury, all the dreams, they simply didn’t work. As detached as she is from her children, and from her husband, Troy grew up just the same: detached. 

RANDOM FACTS:

Cleo’s had, or is having, several affairs, but so is her husband, so its not like any of that matters. Hashtag equality and all that. 

Will she ever divorce her husband? Considering how much money she’ll come into once he dies, its unlikely. 

Troy and her are a lot alike, which is strange to think, especially considering they don’t even know the half of it, given all much of their, ahem, personal lives they’d prefer to keep private.

FAMILY CONNECTIONS:

Jackson Curtis, Jax for short, grew up the youngest and smallest of three brothers, but nevertheless, the scrappiest. Maybe its the fact that they always had to fight over food if they wanted to eat, or him trying to compensate for where he lacked physically, but regardless, he became tough. Too tough, to the point he joined a gang, and dropped out of school, and that gang was where he met Skylar. They fucked, sure, but he never expected to fall in love, or have a kid. Enter KIT.

Kit was bound for trouble from the beginning, with high school drop outs Bonnie and Clyde for parents, and he reminded Jax all too much of himself. Except.. Jax had always been mostly light-hearted (until he started drinking, much later), and even as a child, Kit seemed to have an edge to him. It worried Jax because while he knew a lot of assholes, and could definitely be one himself, he didn’t want his kid to end up one. Thats the weirdest thing though, isn’t it? People can say all these things about how they want their children to end up, and then hardly raise them at all. 

RANDOM FACTS:

Okay, so he blossomed late and did eventually bulk up well into his twenties, for the record, but seventeen year old Jax? Still a baby, who says fuck a lot. A fesity little man. 

Very much in denial that he’s a granddad, but mostly because he’s bitter that Kit never came and told him himself. Also mad that he can’t steal money from his own son anymore, since you know, he has a new family to put first now. 

Works as a mechanic now, which he owes to his days of stealing motorcycle parts, among other things.
