It was one of those days where Ashley had felt like going out so he was just accompanying Sarang wherever she was going. There was a comfortable silence between the both of them so he let his head slip into the clouds. He was trained so deep into his thoughts he didn’t notice the pole coming up until he felt her hand grip his and tug him towards the side. Snapping back to reality he looked around and watched as they walked past the pole. The male blinked a few times before looking over at his friend and giving her a crooked smile, even though the mask he was currently wearing blocked it and his hate hid it when his eyes squinted from the smile. “Thanks..” Without a thought he just held onto her hand and continued to walk along with her. “Where are we going?”
sarang has a half a mind to refrain from interfering with the impending collision of human and cylindrical metal, but generosity (though she wouldn’t dare call it that) wins in the end. really, potential entertainment is sacrificed in order to save the boy from inevitable pain and suffering, which she isn’t too happy about, but his thanks suffices. momentarily, at least. and although his face is hidden from sight, she feels vulnerable when he glances her way. she hates playing nice. “shut up,” sarang commands, tightening her fingers around the hand encompassed by her own in retaliation. “i won’t bother with saving you next time. i seriously can’t tell if you’re too space-y or if you just can’t see.”
it is a lukewarm threat, quickly followed by, “you’re like a child, honestly. were you even paying attention to anything i said before?” the question is rhetorical. to her, he is unreadable yet easily deciphered. only on occasion, of course. or maybe she is giving herself too much credit, taking pride in useless things. she tugs him by the hand in an effort to halt his movements. “i was trying to ask you something when you decided that a concussion would be a better option than listening," informs sarang with an exaggerated roll of her eyes. "before we go any further, i need to know..." she pauses, reaches forward to grasp hold of his other hand, expression scarily stony. then finishes, dangerously serious and threateningly slow, "do. you. like. cats?"
