Chrom kissed him.

Robin froze, stiffening in the prince’s arms, and even as he drew back all he could think of was how soft the tactician’s lips were against his mouth and the tingling warmth of that brief, awkward touch.

Robin licked his lips nervously (and Chrom hated the thrill that went through him at that unconscious gesture).  “Why did you do that?”

“…because I thi…I think I love you.”

The tactician blinked.

And smiled.

And began to laugh, shaking his head slowly.  “Very funny, Captain.”

“I’m not joking,” the prince insisted.

“Did you lose a wager?  Sully enjoys gambling but isn’t so keen on humiliating unaffiliated parties…Vaike, perhaps?  This seems like his sort of humor.”

“No!”

Chrom lay his hands on Robin’s shoulders, wishing he could hold the tactician’s gaze so easily (but even sightless, his eyes were striking, rich brown flecked with gold, and it took all his force of will not to lose himself there).  “It’s not a jape.  I mean it.”

Robin sighed, his weary smile only seeming to grow more strained.  “Captain, you’re not thinking straight.”

“Why don’t you believe me?” the prince pleaded.

The tactician lifted a hand, gently patting Chrom’s arm.  “Because you feel guilty.  Conflating guilt with affection, rushing to assuage it like this…it won’t make you feel better.  It will only lead to more regret.  What happened isn’t your fault,” he assured the prince.  “And I’ll be alright.  Really.  You’ve no need to do this.”

“…how can I prove it, then?” Chrom asked, folding Robin’s fingers gently between his hands.

“Be patient,” the tactician shrugged.  “Let time soothe the guilt.  Lissa says there’s a chance my sight could recover; if it does, then I suppose whatever feelings endure are likely to be real.  If it doesn’t…”

“…you won’t be able to trust me?”

“It’s not you I doubt,” Robin murmured.  “Just how you’re reading your feelings after all this.”  He gestured vaguely to his face, the lingering traces of char that marked his skin…and despite himself, the prince reached up, touching one of the marks with the tips of his fingers before the tactician stepped away.  “Please, Captain.”

“I’m sorry,” Chrom whispered.  “I just…”

“I know,” Robin smiled, patting the prince’s arm comfortingly.  “It will be alright, I assure you.  Just give it time.  Good night, Captain.”

“Good night,” he repeated numbly.

2 for the feh asks!

What was the first 5* hero you ever summoned? 

My best baby girl Lucina ;v; I wanted her so bad I uninstalled and reinstalled the game at least 25 times just to get her on one of the free summons and when I finally got her I screamed. 

If we’re counting the five stars I rolled during my reinstall quest for Lucina, though, I think it might have been Marth.  I joked with a friend that since Lucina went by ‘Marth’ as her pseudonym in Awakening and this was the guy whose name she borrowed, I was summoning the ‘wrong Marth.’

I’ve just finished reading Greatest Bliss and it brought me to tears. The imagery, the deep, tender love Chrom and Robin had... I felt it all so intimately. It’s probably one of the most loving and gentle (somehow?) sex scenes I’ve ever read. Amazing job 😭😭😭

Coming from the biggest Chrom fan I’ve ever seen and someone whose work I really really admire this is such an amazing compliment ;A; ~ <3 <3 <3 I’m so glad you enjoyed it and were able to feel the emotions so strongly throughout!  Bliss is a piece that I’m really proud of and one that means a lot to me: the relationship between Chrom and Robin is one that I never tire of examining from different angles and exploring in different ways, whether it’s emotional or physical intimacy (and oftentimes both), so it really means a lot to know that other people are getting as much out of it as I do. 

I’m going to try to stop gushing just thank you so much I’m incredibly flattered that you read it and I’m so happy you enjoyed it ;v; ~ <3
