A Mind Blind note from Lari Don

You've heard the news by now: we're on the hunt for a character name! Our redhead is a cousin and best friend, a mindreader with a conscience, a criminal who's looking for a better life ...

But who knows him better than his creator? So we asked author Lari Don to fill us in on our Unnamed Boy. Here's what she had to say:

Mind Blind is about a family who can read minds and who use that skill to make money as a criminal gang. The hero (if you can call a criminal a hero) is Ciaran Bane, and the character I need help naming is Ciaran Bane’s cousin and best friend.

The two of them are the only ones who question their family’s criminal methods, but Ciaran doesn’t think he can ever escape the family’s clutches. The unnamed boy thinks he can, so he’s planning his escape. He is 15 years old, tall and solid, with dark red hair. He’s trained in martial arts, and has a squint nose, probably broken in a fight when he was younger. But he’s also smart - working hard to pass exams is his main tactic to escape the family’s life of crime. He is also not nearly as good at mindreading as the rest of his family, so he is often quite confused about what’s going on around him!
