So here they are. The photos are a bit dark but at least the detail is crisp enough to see.

So yeah. Lots of kitbashing and simple part swaps going on here but all go a good way to create something interesting and unique I feel.

Here's my second Empire artillery piece, a classic mortar.

The gabions from Renedra are such a good thing to get for models that won't get moved around a lot and so need a static emplacement.

1938: Very British Civil War model masterpost (so far)

At the urging of @necromanticowboy, here's the masterpost of (s it stands) all my Very British Civil War models. Again, all models are 100% Wargames Atlantic built.

Royalists & Reactionaries - A member of Lord Cirencester's Alarm Company (left) and a British Union of Fascists legionnaire (right).

Members of the left-win People's Armies - Members of a Worker's Defence Company (top) and a People's Assault Column fighter (bottom).

Forces of the Anglican League - Members of the Bishop of Bath and Wells' Guard 'The Cherry Tarts' (top) and militiamen (bottom).

Members of the Republican Guard (Gwarchodlu Gweriniaethol) of the Welsh Free State.

Seriously, the Wargames Atlantic kits are so good for this sort of historical setting.

Now I just need to get around to properly basing them and painting them, when the weather allows it.

I'm building another model for my fantasy setting, The Swordwind Chronicles (I just like the word chronicle), and I'm doing another dökkálfar to go along with the one that I've already got for Gunnhautr Arnorsson, which I've decided shall be Gunnhautr's son, Gunnhautr Gunnhautrsson aka Gunnhautr the Younger.

It's a bit of a pain. First off, using the Perry Miniatures Agincourt Knight arms (specifically the ones from the English Army kit) do work well with the Fireforge Scandinavian/Norse models in several ways, but this particular set of arms just didn't quite fit, specifically the right arm (which I just realised makes him left handed. Oh well), so I had to cut the bent arm just above the elbow, glue the right shoulder in, glue the right hand and forearm to the axehaft, glue the left arm to the model and then glue them all together and hope that gravity didn't tear it all apart. But it worked and it works.

The second problem is that I'm using the Oathmark Elf Infantry heads for the models and though they have a good spangenhelm style helmet, I want to give him a bascinet but I don't want to go through brownstuffing on a maille aventail to cover the gap again. Especially since on average, bascinets go lower down the head, past the ears and to the top of the neck for coverage.

I have some white plastic piping that I could use to extend down the back a bit. Or maybe use it to make a bevor to make him a great bascinet, like this:

He will have a visor for his helmet to complete the look, just because I like visored bascinets but still.

It's a pain.

Last night, I'd found my unused sprues of free Warlord Games Landsknechts in my sprue pile of shame, and also an unused sprue of Perry Miniatures' Agincourt English longbowmen, and I had a thought on how well they'd fit.

Turns out... not great but not terrible. The proportions are not terrible, but the arms and bodies are not made with each other in mind. The Landsknecht arms have a slight ridge from where they connect to a slightly more outsized torso wearing close fitting armour or doublet, so there's a bit of a gap between the arms and the torso more than should be natural. You can't see it on the photo but in person, the gap is noticeable.

Another problem is that the Landsknecht kits are... well, for Landsknechts, so all but two of the pairs of arms are wearing the stereotypical poofy sleeves infamous for the Landsknechts, which do not fit with the early 15th century look I want with my models.

They're not terrible, as experiments go, but it's not something I'll go for again. If I want to use pikemen for my Medieval fantasy army, I think I'll see about using the Perry Miniatures European Mercenaries kit, since at least then the kit will be more easy to kit together.

More VBCW WIPs.

More models done using Wargames Atlantic World War kits:

From the Anglican League, three members of the Bishop of Bath and Wells' Guard, nicknamed the 'Cherry Tarts' because of their red berets. Wearing the 1937 pattern webbing, these guys are on campaign because they're more bulked up with gear.

Members of the Welsh Free State Republican Guard (Gwarchodlu Gweriniaethol) wearing Irish supplied uniforms, so a mix of 1908 pattern webbing (WW1 British) and German-style stahlhelm (WW1 German). I'm still hemming on whether to give them some degree of extra gear to show them fighting outside of the new capital of Wales.

VBCW People's Armies WIP

Doing more of the left-wing with the bits from Wargames Atlantic and Warlord Games this time around.

A fairly generic civilian militia fighter given military equipment to fight with. A mix of Wargames Atlantic's Partisan bodies, a WA WW1 Russian Adrien helmet, and arms, Mosin-Nagant and holstered Tokarev pistol from Walord Games' Soviet infantry sprue.

The Warlord Games stuff is just a fraction bit larger than Wargames Atlantic's 28mm scale, but you can't really tell from the photos and I doubt you'll be able to tell when the model is painted. Do have a few little gaps to fill with greenstuff, but once he's painted, he'll be fine and dandy.

Model wise, I'd say he could either be used as a foreign fighter with an International Brigade, or a British Communist group being supplied by the Soviets, so more than likely a member of the People's Assault Column.

More Clone-A-Saurus WIPs

So I've based up the Spinosaurus and Triceratops models, added the resin foliage to their bases, as well as based up the Mercenary figure with shotgun too.

"*chuckle* I'm in danger!"

Do need to fill the injection holes present on the dinosaurs, though the Mercenary figure is good to go for painting. Don't really need to add too much to him that he doesn't already have.

Again, I lucked out on finding these toys since these two are pretty well sized for my needs.
