i know people like to headcanon mion as transmasc but i think transfem makes like way more sense given that a major part of her arc is about wanting to be seen as a woman and as feminine and sensitive without losing the respect friendship and affection of her peers.

i am so enamored with these lines. i know "we'll fall in love in a normal way" most obviously reads as implying a romantic connection between keiichi & rena, but i actually see it as (mostly) platonic. i think about a tumblr post that goes "you need to be a little bit in love with all of your friends" quite often and i think that concept applies very well to the two of them. they are best friends for life, they admire each other, they captivate each other, and they inspire each other to be better in every aspect of their lives...idk WHY i dont view this romantically i just dont.

higurashi will always be one of my fav depictions of mental illness, not only bc it captures things like depression and paranoia so well, but ESPECIALLY because at its core the message is that mentally ill people are ALWAYS deserving of understanding and compassion, even (and perhaps most especially) if they are violent. which is something you don't see very often in media
