-Where you stand financially: Five of Cups
Presently, things aren’t the greatest. You’re having a hard time dealing with a loss of money--be that literally or figuratively, such as in an income source--and it’s weighing heavily on your shoulders. You stand at a precipice of choice, unable to decide where to go for your future. You are blinded by this predicament, unable to see what you still have with you. These trappings feel all consuming.
-Where you are going: Five of Swords
Ahead of you lies many struggles. The path forward twists and turns and hurls you down roads you’d rather not take. It is a hard path, but not an unconquerable one. If you are diligent in facing these obstacles, they can be overcome. Be warned, however. Though many conflicts will present themselves, it’s not necessarily wise to fight all of them. Pick your battles carefully, hollow victories are sometimes just as bad as defeats.
-A tool to aid you: Eight of Cups
The Eight of Cups often speaks of a tired disappointment, an abandoning of things once held dear. There is, however, a lesson in this if one looks past the usual, negative connotations. The Eight of Cups tells you to follow your light, even if it leads away from something you once wanted. Use your want for change to find your true path in life. If your heart says to wander, follow it. Embrace the unknown future.
Overview:
The transition from two 5s, cards of conflict, to an 8, a card of re-evaluation, shows that the struggles you are facing and will face will lead you to a new perspective in life. The Cups book-ending the Swords show you will start from some relationship to your work or finances and end in a new relationship to them after some serious effort on your part. It’ll be hard, but it’ll be alright.
