I light a cigarette, and take a drag. I think to myself, what am I doing Have I gone made? I was always taught from when I was a little girl That a lot of people have lost a battle they fought Because of a dangerous stick, that is also ruining the world. The smoke makes you forget about the pain for a short amount of time But the sickness & anxiety I gain after I blow it, makes me feel like I’ve committed a crime. I look at the trees, the animals and the lovely sky and I think to myself “Oh my days, what a wonderful sight” I look at the mirror, and I see a little girl That same girl with a mission A mission to save the world. And I wonder, will she cry if she sees what she will be In 10 years time, being the person she promised she will never be. I take a breath I am thankful that I still can. It gives me the strength and the courage to be my body’s friend." - a poem I made just moments ago when I decided to completely quit smoking cigarettes
