Do you wanna build a snowman? [Dawn & Red]
Snow crunched under Red's feet, an endless field of white stretching out before and behind him. If he stretched out his hand to pat the small rodent on his shoulder, his fingertips would feel numb and awkward against Pika's warm skin. The air was crisp and frigid, and if he breathed in too sharply, it hurt his lungs- but he liked that. The cold, the numbness, the snow- all of it felt like home, felt like Mount Silver. The phantom champion breathed in, felt the winter in his lungs, and sighed, a small note of contentment to it.
It isn't home, though, he remembered as few snow-covered trees came into sight, a forest rising behind them. It wasn't home- but then again, Mount Silver wasn't home anymore, either. This was just Sinnoh; it was a foreign region to him, nothing less and nothing more. ...That wasn't to say he didn't enjoy this place, though. What was the name of the place he'd been traveling to? ...Snowflake City? Something like that.
Then something caught Red's eye, crimson orbs glancing towards it immediately. Brushing ebony hair from his face (he still needed a haircut), he stared a moment longer, confused. This thing was nearly invisible, as it was surrounded by the very stuff it was made from. It was... A snowman?
The ravenet blinked once, taken aback by the strange sight. If he had been closer to the city, he would have paid it no mind. However, this was the middle of nowhere, and a place so lonely that not even pokemon lived there. Yet here he was, staring at a jolly-faced mound of snow. Did this mean there was someone else nearby? A small twinge of discomfort echoed in his mind; even if he'd returned to civilization almost half a year ago, Red still struggled with even the simplest human interaction.
Spidery fingers twitched and tightened around the strap of his backpack, their owner taking a step back and preparing to go another route. However, just as he had finally decided to retreat, a voice greeted his ears, only slightly muffled by the wind.
He turned around.
