Cilo wants to be free, but she is also loney. The only "family" she has ever had has pushed her limits and tried to keep her under a boot heel. Cilo doesn't like people trying to take advantage or her or tell her what to do.

When she interacts with the other companions, Cilo begins to think outside herself. Cilo wants to save Astarion and Wyll, remembering the feeling of what it is like to be a slave to a cruel master. Cilo wants to liberate Shadowheart, Lae'zal and Gale of the unworthy gods they worship, as she was beholden to an unworthy god. She wants to help Halsin redeem himself for past wrongs, just as Cilo has casued harm in the past. Cilo starts to find her true self , by letting others in, and seeing herself in the people around her.
