CONCERT SERIES :: Free Tickets are Still Available for CIM@Severance, Oct. 1

Tickets for the kick-off performance of our 2014-15 CIM@Severance Concert Series on Wednesday, October 1, are still available. While the event is free, tickets are required for admittance to the hall and seating.

Concert Series :: HaeSun Paik makes her CIM Orchestra debut at Severance Hall, Oct. 9

A renowned concert pianist, superb collaborative artist and sought-after pedagogue, new CIM faculty member HaeSun Paik makes her first appearance with the CIM Orchestra on Wednesday, October 9, on the stage of Severance Hall—performing Tchaikovsky’s universally beloved First Piano Concerto.

This concert, conducted by Carl Topilow, at the Home of The Cleveland Orchestra is the first in the CIM@Severance Concert Series for the 2013-2014 academic year. The evening begins with Fireworks—literally Stravinsky’s Feu d’artifice, Op. 4—a dazzling overture that launched the composer’s career and is immediately followed by the Tchaikovsky work featuring Paik.  After a brief intermission, the Orchestra returns to complete this all-Russian program with Rachmaninoff’s vigorous Second Symphony.
