floating on over to the table vanellope was currently occupying on her own, tink dropped down into the chair beside her friend and gave her a hard look. “alright. what’s up?” she asks, not even jumping in with pleasantries and instead getting right to the point. things had been weird since the winter festival and in all honesty... tink was getting tired of it. so confronting vanellope about whatever the fuck was going on seemed like the smartest way to handle things. “and don’t say you’re fine - something’s wrong. i’m not stupid.” @sheglitch​

reaching her hand out to take the last glass of champagne on one of the waiter’s tray, gillian stops herself just as another stretches out to grab it before her. there’s a twitch in her fingers, but her face remains neutral as she lets out a small huff of a laugh. “i supposed you beat me to it,” she comments, turning to offer an even and practiced smile to the person as she drops her own hand back to her side. “fair and square, it’s yours.” though her words don’t say it, gillian hopes she’s implied enough that the other will give the drink over to her instead.

at first he thinks he must be seeing things - that his desire to see mel in person again mixed with the few drinks in his system were what made the woman standing in line at the bar appear to be so much like his ex girlfriend. but with each step benny takes towards her it becomes clearer and clearer that it has to be her. “mel?” he questions, voice unsure despite the fact that there’s not a doubt in his mind that it was her. but the confusion of what she was doing here on the island and at the masquerade ball still had him second guessing it. “you’re back?” @mel-ancholymuse​

though she had originally had every intention of staying far away from any of the potential magic users she had her eyes on, when one of the girls breaks away from the rest of her friends and is left standing on her own, rose couldn’t pass on the opportunity. it had to be subtle of course, just a brief interaction would be enough to start. but as rose bumps into the other girl with her silver bracelet brushing against winnie’s skin, it becomes clear that this moment is going to be far more important than just a casual introduction. @howlingwinnie​

With a drink in hand and a few more already in her system, Eda wandered around the ballroom in search of King or Luz when a familiar boy caught her eye. Wild smirk growing on her lips, she crosses over towards him, making sure to stay out of his own line of sight until she’s right upon him. “Hey froggy boy,” she greets once she’s close enough, lifting her glass in the air as she does so. “Told ya the spell would wear off eventually.” @naveenmaldonia​

"Shit" Raph mumbled, drink splashing over the edge if his glass when he didn't make it out the closing door fast enough. Shaking off the excess Raph quickly brought the glass to his mouth as he made his way towards the lawn.

Corona Island Recap 1/17

The New Year’s Eve Masquerade Ball is over and here’s everything you need to know about what went down. 

Daphne Blake and Dipper Pines shared a kiss during the ball. They parted ways for a bit and Daphne began talking to Skip Sparkypants. Once Dipper returned, he found Daphne also kissing Skip.

Having been in a weird place for the past few weeks, a drunk Hans Isles approached his girlfriend Mel Muse. An argument was had and the two officially broke up.

Eric Capitan attended the ball with Ariel Triton, but towards the end of the night left with Thorn McKnight. Having realized that Eric was gone - Ariel sulked for a bit before getting high and letting out their feelings with Shaggy Rogers and Violet Parr.

Not at the ball, Valerie Gray ran into Danny Fenton in his ghost form with his ghost dog, Cujo. Valerie then started to hunt Danny down. Eventually, after Danny calls for help, Fred Fredrickson, Honey Lemon, and Gogo Tomago left the ball to go assist. Together they rode up in the Burrito Bros truck and joined in the fight until Valerie retreated.

Old flames Belle Joli and Ralph Wreck were seen talking and hanging out together for a while. Savannah “Sav” Wrides noticed and got pissed, confronting him in her angry and drunken state.

Mel Muse, Thalia Muse, and Meg Moralis distract the DJ and Riley Anderson takes over the music for the night. Omari “15 cent” Jackson also made an impromptu performance.

Claudette Bijou and Adam Bete drunkenly decided to get married with their witness being Hans Isles. They convinced a local court officiant to marry them and did follow through with the paperwork - leaving them officially and legally married. 

Star Butterfly and Billy “Bing Bong” Brandon also got drunkenly married, officiated by Riley Anderson. No legalities were followed so the marriage is not considered official.

Two sets of couples hooked up within the castle, leaving the ballroom to find a semi-private area not too far away. Rose Huntsman and Adora Weaver as well as Britney Santiago and Chip Skylark.

Despite their rivalry, Rancis Fluggerbutter and Vanellope Von Schweetz made out during the event.

Grabbing their drinks from the bar and moving onward to give space for the next people in line, Claudette’s hand naturally rests on Hans’s arm as she guides him off away from the dancefloor and commotion of the ball. “So are you going to talk to her?” she asks - no need to say who the woman in question is that she’s referring to. It’s not a suggestion she should be making, having come here originally with the intentions of keeping Hans distracted and far away from Mel or anything related to her - but with more than just a few drinks in her already, Claudette’s level of reasoning and logic is beginning to falter. Leaving her to see no issue with letting her best friend approach his girlfriend (or at least she thinks they were still technically together). “Or are you going to be a pussy and just let her leave again with nothing resolved?”  @hansoftheisles​
