if were being real, nothing about my life would matter a single thing if it werent for my friends. my fingers on one hand are too many to count the number of times something good happened from me being alive before they came along
i am so constantly shamelessly grateful to the series of events that made me a part of nocts daily routine, and led me to be right here, right now, sharing campfire fancy cuisine and game night with my three favorite people in the world
iggy might look distant and almost robotic to someone watching from the outside, but hes one of the kindest people ive met. he rearranges everything around us so that even the hardest quests seem manageable, we just need to follow along, connecting the dots to this master plan he always has, always looking out for us
gladio is just a big dummy dude, but hes also fiercely devoted and for all the times he grumps about us millenials these days, we know nothing can ever hurt us when hes around

well, noct was the first person who ever truly... saw me. i had no concept of what it meant to be a positive thing in someones life until the first time i made him laugh. he might be quiet and he sure does love sleeping and enjoying the finer peaceful things in life, but those are just things that help you appreciate the world through his eyes in all its simple beauty even better, and even when were just sitting together without saying a word, ive never felt more fundamentally understood, or validated in my existence, more connected to this... gorgeous world worth fighting for and protecting
being alive matters, because it means i get to spend another day running away from behemoths with him, or taking snapshots of his dumb sleepy face in the backseat, or playing rock paper scissors all three to decide who has to go get water when we camp, or watching him catch this gigantic fish with just the brightest grin on his face
being alive matters, because it gives me more chances, more practice, more wisdom... to try and give all of these feelings, all of these good things back to him. make it all worth it

i dont know, everyone has stuff that theyre trying to deal with, right?? i dont know if ill ever earn my right to be free of feeling trapped or. less, but as long as it doesnt hurt my friends, thats all that matters
