what are some good tips for beginning concert photographers??
Start with local/smaller bands if you can. I did that a lot before trying to move on to bigger bands. Take photos all the time! Practice a lot shooting on manual and in low lighting. One of the things I wish I got a handle on before really going for it was how to change my settings correctly so I wouldn’t have to do everything in post! The best advice I got was just go out and do it. Try applying for small online magazines/publications, that’s the first step in eventually shooting bands that you want to shoot as well!! Remember you’re going to have A LOT of crappy out of focus photos which is normal, just keep working at it and you’ll get better. Also don’t worry about the amount of gear/cameras other people have, as long as you know what you’re doing you can make awesome photos with basic equipement!
