I definitely see where you're coming from with the idea of not wanting skinny cosplayers to take away from fat cosplayers on their own character turf. From my experience tho, the more ways the cosplayer is to the character's appearance, the more attention they get for it as being an accurate cosplay. I may have kind of a skewed perception as a skinny person though.
for some people, and for socially conscious people that may be true (and it is for me too) but for the cosplay community at large i have seen time and time again that thin, white people get more attention than anyone else, regardless of who they are cosplaying.
