Name: Elsie ( @jyeonvoir, @linochee, @cinnominroll)
What groups do you stan?: Seventeen, The Boyz, Stray Kids, NCT
Who are your biases?: S.coups, Jun, Hwall, Sangyeon, Juyeon, Changmin, Bang chan, Lee Know, Hwang Hyunjin, Mark, Jaemin, Jeno, Renjun, Kun, Xiaojun, Winwin.
If you could do one activity with your ult, what would it be?: Picnic date
Why do you think people love idols and their stories so much?: I think it because everything about them is so attractive and perceived as perfection. Compared to normal people who aren’t idol or artist, they are more open with their fans which made most people love them. As for stories, it makes people connect to the idol easier and one of a result of loving the artist.
Where do you think the line between fantasy and reality should be drawn?: Exactly as it is. It’s best for us to keep our fantasy of them away from the reality of them, especially with the trouble that they already have with sasaengs and crazier fans that act on their want to be with these artists.
What would you do if you met your bias in real life?: I’d try to stay calm and cool. Make sure to respect their privacy and if it is possible, maybe have a small interaction like take a photo together.
Is there a need for reform in the industry?: Yes. Starting from treating the idol more humanly. Because as Kpop goes worldwide, we can see many idols got mistreated by their own company. Not only that, but there are also too many double standards for male and female idols. A lot more needs to be fair, companies have clear hatred towards certain groups and everything is about popularity. These need to be changed.
If you could be a K-pop star, would you?: It sounds quite tempting, but I would refuse. Looking at how the entertainment industry nowadays, there are far too many cons that outweigh the pros.
What would you do if you found out that Bang Chan had read “Hate To Admit” fic about them?: The first thing that I will do is panic, then feel shy about it. Sure I only use them as muses, but still, no one knew how they will react to that.
Why did you choose to write for a real person vs. a fictional one?: I struggled with character creation and OCs before knew Kpop. And thanks to them, it allows me to get more into the person, by doing so much research for the stories, and appreciate the artists more.
Has K-Pop changed your life in any major way?: Yes, It has. If it isn’t because of Kpop, maybe I would still depressed and see my life as a burden. Kpop is the only thing that able make me feel better nowadays. It also allowed me to meet new people, both in my online and offline life.
