so I started playing homicipher (literally found on it was on switch THIS YEAR) and I’m already in love with the game dynamic. The fact that you have to really tap into your ability to read faces and differentiate between similar, yet NOT THE SAME concepts!
and I overall just love horror figures. It’s so funny, I love horror figures but if they’re actually scary.. that’s when I start rethinking my decision. So far, my favorite (besides the adorable Mr. Crawling) is definitely Mr. Chopped. He’s the most expressive, despite me barely having his dialogue in the games dictionary!
in-depth spoilers below line !!!
I think my favorite part of the entire game was when Mr. Silver hair is trying to teach you words with coins, and the player is kinda hinting at stuff. I think i definitely mixed up numbers and directional cues, but I’m gonna go back and fix it!
and I also appreciate the difference in character names! like their names ascertain to their physical features, their manner of existence/species, or simply what they wear. My personal favorite name ideas are Mr. Chopped because he’s literally chopped body parts, Mr. Crawling because it just describes how he most commonly moves around, and Mr. Silver Hair because low and behold, the man has silver hair.
I can definitely appreciate the combination of horror, emotional intelligence, vocabulary and concept differentiation, and just unique character designs. Like seriously… you created a Frankenstein’s-monster-coded character without making it so closely related to frankenstein’s monster!
I’m only on chapter 1 so I can’t wait to see what else the story entails, already brainstorming ocs and ways to incorporate these unique character elements into my own creative works, because let’s face it… it’s pretty sick.
