πΊ Little Nightmares & Cultural Dimensions π
In the Halloween trailer for Little Nightmares II, we see a group of people standing in front of what appears to be multiple TVs. This reminded me of a document I read for my Readings in World Literature class called "Cultural Dimensions."
The word "souless" reminds me of the Signal towers need to gather souls in order to keep it running, leaving the citizens of the pale city, nothing but mindless husks.
Here, we see a woman standing in front of the television, perhaps the teacher that is defeated after chasing Mono and Six, but I doubt it. It looks as if electronic particles floating around the TV are effecting her.
This brings me to another section of the reading called "The Role of the Media".
Here, it looks as if this woman's identity is being "shaped" and their desires then become blurred.
Towards the end of Little Nightmares, Six is faced with a bunch of hungry obese guests within the geust area and must run for her life in order to escape.
This most likely refers to the term "McDonaldization" This is why Six is always hungry. The transmissions from the TV must have altered her brain into making her think she's hungry all the time.
Who does this remind you of?
According to others, Little Nightmare II's website refers to this morbidly obese man as "The Mad Doctor". It looks as if he has succumbed to McDonaldization. I believe that the transmissions from the TVs, since everyone we've seen so far has a distorted or grotesque face.
What if having these blank twisted face are the 1st stage of the process and their facial features aren't done yet?
But why and who are the people controlling the signal tower?
I believe these are the people who are controlling the signal tower because they care about nothing more than money and for their industry to grow globally.
Little Nightmares seems to be a 2 or 3-part series that is just a big metaphor for consumerism and how technology effects our society. Little Nightmares is a different kind of horror.
But what do you guys think? Did I crack it? Let me know in the comments what you guys think and what I may have missed. π
