"gay marriage was approved last year, and while i am heir to the throne, i still get the same rights as everyone in italy." she spoke and tilted her head. "now, there will be struggles. my father must approve of our union, the palace won't be pleased, the country is still quite catholic with the vatican near... and don't get me started on whether our possible kids could be in the line of succession." she said and then realized she was rambling. she looked up, "but i am quite serious. become my wife. please?" she asked now a lot sweeter. she couldn't officially be engaged until her father approved, really. yet, she wanted this. she needed to know she had a woman to fight for, truly, before she went to battle for it.
