The Final Destination. #Photography905 #SnowTrip #CircleGettingBigger Last week the snow, this week Disneyland. . . . “Avengers: Infinity War” ended with Tony Stark and Nebula as the only two survivors left on Titan, after Thanos succeeded in his plan. The “Avengers: Endgame” trailer begins in an attention-getting manner with Tony now drifting through space in a ship, recording a message to his beloved Pepper Potts that lets us know he is in big trouble. Some eagleeeyed viewers actually caught a glimpse of this at the very end of “Avengers: Infinity War” in the background of one of the final shots of the film, but the “Endgame” trailer gives us a great view of the triumphant Thanos’ armor now placed on display as a Scarecrow of sorts – an image that Marvel comic book fans may find familiar. Our first look at Steve Rogers since the end of “Avengers: Infinity War” stands out for two big reasons. One, poor Steve is crying! Two, he’s shaved off the beard he was rocking last time we saw him! We don't know why Steve is crying in this particular moment, but he clearly has plenty of reasons to, given the losses endured by the Avengers. It’s understandable that we find the Avengers in a dark place after the events of “Avengers: Infinity War,” and that includes Bruce Banner – seen viewing (and then having trouble viewing) a display of familiar faces. Also appearing to feel the weight of the world upon his shoulders when we catch up with him in the trailer is Thor, who’s seen in one of his occasional forays into Midgardian garb. Also seen briefly in the “Avengers: Endgame” trailer is the shadowy figure of Nebula. The Guardians of the Galaxy were hit particularly hard by Thanos in “Avengers: Infinity War,” including Nebula losing her sister, Gamora. So what’s her next step? He wasn't present for the events of “Avengers: Infinity War,” but Clint Barton makes his big return in “Avengers: Endgame.” He’s seen in the trailer in a noteworthy scenario, seemingly having just taken out some enemies and sporting a notably different look than we’ve seen him with before. Yesterday was my last @vanswarpedtour and boy was it bitter sweet. Eight years ago I remember seeing their compilation album in store. Two years later, in 2012, I went to my first #WarpedTour and it was everything I hoped for. Every year it kept getting better, each being distinctly different from the last. Just two weeks ago, an unconfirmed report indicated that Twentieth Century Fox had pulled the plug on Ridley Scott’s Alien: Awakening, the tentatively-titled third film in the Alien prequels that would follow both Prometheus and Alien: Covenant. It wasn’t that surprising – considering the weak box office performance of Covenant, and Scott’s ability to go back to the drawing board and reel in a budget – but what really muddied the waters was Disney’s acquisition of Twentieth Century Fox. Would Disney, a family-friendly company, back such a violent, R-rated franchise? Would they look at the numbers of Prometheus and Covenant and say to themselves, “Man, what a great investment!”? I think not, and it’s looking more and more grim for Scott’s plans to turn Alien into the next Star Wars. In fact, after months of posturing that nothing would stand in the way of Awakening‘s early 2018 production, Scott has finally confirmed the franchise’s uncertainty: “It looks to me that the Fox deal is certainly going to go ahead with Disney, and I’ve been with Fox for a number years now,” the All the Money In the World director told Digital Spy before sounding doubt about Disney’s willingness to make a darker kind of film. “I’m hoping I’ll still probably be there so whether or not they go ahead with such a dark subject, being Disney, as aliens remains to be seen.” He continued: “I think they should because I think, when people have a hard and fast franchise which has ongoing interest, it’s crazy not to do something with it.“ As John Squires and I have expressed on several occasions, we’re hoping that Disney shifts gears and goes back to Neill Blomkamp‘s plans for an Alien 5 with Sigourney Weaver and Michael Biehn returning to their Aliens role. PG-13 and fun seem to be the right course to take this slowly dying franchise. Even Scott reveals that PG-13 films are the focus of Disney’s strategy: “That’s why they’re so successful. Steve Jobs launched two of the most valuable and creative companies in modern times with Apple and Pixar — but he didn't reach those heights by following the rules all the time. Jobs faced many obstacles to get Apple and Pixar off the ground. But he had a unique way of crafting his own reality, a “distortion field” he'd use to persuade people that his personal beliefs were actually facts, which is how he pushed his companies forward. He also used a blend of manipulative tactics to ensure his victories, particularly in boardroom meetings with some of the most powerful company executives in the world. Many consider Jobs a genius, and everyone can learn a thing or two from his tactics. Here, we teach you how to get what you want — whether that’s in your career, or in your life in general — using examples from Jobs' life, many of which were detailed in Walter Isaacson's biography of the Apple cofounder. Pitching was a key part of Jobs’ repertoire, and it should be part of yours, too. The process of selling — yourself, or a product — is the key to getting others to buy into your ideas. Before Apple launched iTunes in 2001, Jobs met with dozens of musicians in the hopes of corralling record labels into going along with the iTunes plan.
