“That was really about honoring my lineage, my past, my bloodline in order for me to evolve into the person that I need to be to create this album...it's almost like a cleanser, a meditation to just prepare yourself to go through this journey. And yeah, I honestly feel like when I hear that song, I can feel my roots. It feels very, very spiritual.”
This circuit tree (circuitry) represents the familial roots Solange feels in Rise. The circuits represent complexity and the juxtaposition of modern/created and natural aspects in the song (like the introduction of a synth towards the end vs the acoustic instruments in the beginning).
