Let Me Fall Chapter 1 is live! I had the absolute honor of working with @nightimedreamersworld in bringing my Cirque du Soleil AU to life! I have endless gratitude to her for putting up with my circus info-dumping, stream of consciousness factoids and headcannons. This has turned out better than my wildest dreams! I love the world that we've built together.
This truly turned into a passion project for me. Every time one of us came up with an idea for a scene, I immediately felt the need to draw it! We also felt that quick technical sketches would help folks get a visual reference for some of the circus moves. The fleshing out of the background was such a fun challenge. Between learning about perspective and lighting, I have grown so much as an artist from this experience!
In the BC (before children) era, Mr. Purple and I did duo trapeze as a hobby. It took over our lives in the best way possible. Working on these illustrations made me realize how much I miss the circus and I'm thinking that I want to try and find my way back to it in some form. As a bonus, here are some pictures and a video of our last performance.
🔥FIREEE!🔥 @lovestruckvoltage
I'm really in it deep with circus lately! I went to another figure drawing class at my old circus school. It was virtual this time and Little Purple was able to draw with me.
I'm really excited to see how much I've improved since the last class; all of the drawing I've been doing for CORB has really paid off!

Thank you so much @leithillustration for the tag!
I kinda decided at the last minute to participate in Inktober and it’s going surprisingly well so far (1, 2 & 3)! I tend to do a knitting theme because that’s all I want to draw in the Fall and I think I have concepts for most of them.
I’m really leveling up my fake Cirque show poster game! These are my absolute favorites and I thought I’d do a little story time, so gather around. I got the idea for the posters from my best friend’s father in law who happens to be a fantasy writer. He had told us the story of how a family trip to Lake Tahoe had inspired the names of one of the locations in his books. He changed the names of the various Tahoe landmarks to Scottish sounding names and no one ever picked up on it. So that’s what I did with the show posters! I’ll admit that it was a lot of trouble to go through when only tiny parts are visible, but it brought me joy so I ran with it.

Much love to @valeffelees & @artsyunderstudy for the tags this morning!
Littlest Purple was sick all of last week and I’m luxuriating in having them back at school and a quiet house. I’ve really enjoyed the uninterrupted drawing time.
Still barreling through CORB artwork and having so much fun with scenery. I think my favorite thing has been making up posters for fake Cirque shows.

Thank you so much to everyone that tagged me this morning! (@artsyunderstudy , @youarenevertooold , @alexalexinii , @you-remind-me-of-the-babe , @orange-peony & @shrekgogurt )
I’ve really been loving working on my CORB illustrations even though I have an ever growing list of other projects that need me time. I promise to get to making my kids’ Halloween costumes, carving the blocks for my Christmas cards, creating the instructions for my knitting classes and making product for holiday markets as soon as I finish these next two illustrations, three at most.
Enjoy more backgrounds!
