I enjoy how my tactic for writing novels is just to throw Things into the pot and see how they shake out. Like Haunt Your Murderers? Oooh yeah, pirates! Circuses! Drag queens! Immortals! Underground lairs! Trains! Grave robbers! Wax museums! Brothels! Surgeons! Murder plots! And people are like “how can this possibly all be connected?” And yet, somehow, everything does and it all makes perfect sense. 😈
