Prevaricating Role Model || Ahyeon & N
Covering her mouth as a deep yawn escaped, Ahyeon squinted her eyes to avoid the blinding light of the rising sun. It was nearly midday and the brunette hadn't even bothered to get an hour of rest. While the other members were already sleeping; laying restless in their cots; or trying to improve their performances, she'd decided to give herself a little tour of Shanghai. During her nearly two years in the circus they'd never gone to China; to be frank, it was the one place she was looking forward to visiting.
After half an hour of walking around aimlessly, the young woman had ended up in a park, and by this time Ahyeon had formed one opinion of China that would not be changed.
The crowds … were suffocating.
To her relief the park was the least congested place she'd been so far; therefore, she took advantage of the moment and breathed deeply as her steps grew in leisure.
Despite her lack of map, the brunette assumed this was Lu Xun Park … or whatever it was called. Unfortunately, Ahyeon was horrid with Mandarin – from the basics to the pronunciation, needless to say that she'd given up on trying to learn it no matter how much she actually wanted to. And no way in hell would she ask one of the members for help.
Each time she passed something in Mandarin she tried – and ultimately failed – to mentally translate it. Eventually Ahyeon settled with just enjoying the view. Or tried to at least. It was difficult to appreciate anything, no matter the beauty or significance, when thoughts continued to mercilessly flood one's mind, submerging any chance of a distraction. This was one reason the brunette constantly tried to remain busy; when she gave herself time to think, the only subjects her mind seemed to be able to conjure up were uninvited ones; lost members, resigned members, emotional turmoil – it was all too much for one person to handle!
There was also the possibility that she was just a little bit too intolerant.
As the female reeled herself back in, she took noticed of the shaded area she now stood in. Observing the vicinity, it looked to be a rotunda, leading Ahyeon to conclude that she hadn't yet managed to wander out of the park. If she had, then she would call herself lost.
Without warning, Ahyeon's right knee removed itself from the role of support cast, causing the young woman to stumble slightly to her right. Luckily she'd caught herself before she had the chance to fall completely into the wall beside her. Howbeit, whenever she glanced to her right, it wasn't a wall but a man – a man so tall to her, she was forced to crane her neck just to catch his features. The petite brunette muttered a gentle “sorry” before doing a double-take of his face.
He looked vaguely familiar, but Ahyeon could never tell. She could swear he was a new member, but lately she couldn't keep up. Shouldn't she confirm it though just in case?
“Excuse me,” she started firmly, “but are you a new performer?” Ahyeon didn't want to take the chance of giving details of their troupe to a random stranger, so she kept it as vague as possible, hoping that if he was indeed a member he would understand. If his answer was yes, though, he'd likely get scolded for being off the grounds alone.
