Candy Coated Introductions || Onew & Chunji
Chunji knew how badly he had been adapting to everything when the wanderlust kicked in as badly as it did after only a few days in Daegu. He wanted to keep moving, he wanted to get away from this place. He wanted to forget this beautiful land and the warm weather, because it marked the location where he had lost a fundamental part of himself: his humanity. Now, he hated taking advantage of people, he really did, but he had no choice in the matter when he had approached Ara the night before about taking his pain away. On one hand, it had been the best choice he could have made in terms of recovery, because it felt like he had already gotten over everything. But on the other hand, he couldn’t even feel the dull ache that said how much the two departed girls had meant to him.
This left him feeling strangely like a robot and it prompted him with the urge to get as far away from this location as possible while the feelings stayed repressed. Perhaps if he was gone before they had a chance to resurface, they’d wander about the hills around Daegu looking for him, and they’d remain lost until another unlucky traveler would come across them. Min was back and his heart soared at that, but the negation from Ahyeon still being gone had him wishing for her to be wiped from his mind altogether. The emotional imprint of those feelings was still there, and the ghost of his old pain returned to haunt him. His new strange feelings for Min combined with that, and he was glad for a distraction from it all. Good, hard work could sometimes be the best medicine.
So when he stepped into the food booth that sold candied nuts, popcorn, candied and caramel apples, and cotton candy he breathed in the sweet scent with a content smile. Everything about this screamed like he couldn’t have gotten a better job –the worst thing he noticed about it was that he couldn’t eat any of it on the job. Chunji had a real sweet tooth that he honestly could exploit pretty badly if he wasn’t careful. He pulled a hat on at that point, and then washed his hands before going to work with the sweets. The booth was rather big, so he got to wondering if someone would be joining him before the Cirque would open.
