I don't get it
Why does mostly everyone in the trans community use the word cishet? Why can't they just say straight people or something else? I know it's just a word, but it feels so much more like a slur that I come to find myself being very offended by it even when it's not directed at me.
I know it sounds like another white straight girl complaining, but I feel like we shouldn't be cast into such a negative connotation just because a small percentage of us are actual scum. Every population has those people though, so it's not really fair to say that we are the only bad guys here. Heck one time I dated a guy and he didn't even bother to tell me he was gay until AFTER I found out he was cheating on me with another guy and he broke my heart.
But then again, who am I to say anything when I'm just another straight white teenage girl who apparently knows nothing about the LGBTQ community and has no right to stand up for them?
