Vardayrel Ginvam was born in Narsis in 4E 6 to a Councilman of House Hlaalu. Four years later, faer family was stripped of their title and holdings and practically run out of Morrowind as house Hlaalu's position as one of the Great Houses was taken from it. Though the Empire had proven itself to be disloyal to Hlaalu, settling in Cyrodiil would be safer than Black Marsh and less costly than Skyrim. And so they spent the coin they had left to travel to Cheydinhal and purchase a meager home.

While Vardayrel's parents begrudgingly took jobs as laborers, fae had no interest in being some Count's servant or a simple farmhand. The young Vardayrel had bigger plans, though. Fae started out by stealing a few tomes from the Mages Guild. They specialized in Alteration, but they had a few Destruction tomes lying about. Fae learned a simple shock spell to protect faerself from any thieves or bandits. To supplement faer family income, Vardayrel indulged in a bit of light burglary and theft. The wealthy merchants wouldn't miss a few loaves of bread or a couple of potions every month. As fae grew, so did the call of coin. Food and potions were no longer enough. Fae had moved on to stealing gems and jewelry and anything else that could be quickly turned around and sold. From Leyawiin to Anvil and everywhere inbetween, fae had stolen anything small and valuable.

After a few decades, this grew rather boring. Stealing from the same people just isn't all that fun, so Vardayrel moved on to other provinces. It was 4E 201 before fae was ever caught by the authorities, not for being a thief, but for crossing the border illegally.
