Today's post is a spotlight on my private collection. It's always interesting to discover an artist whose work looks very similar to an artist that I personally collect. The first image is by the Beijing artist Lu Xinjian. The work examines city structures under the forces of globalization. The second photo is a Chinese artist from my personal collection, named Mi Mai, whose work is an ink-jet print from his Random series. In the spirit of John Cage, he creates works that question how much control the artist needs to have over his own art. He's developed sophisticated programs that create random agglomerations of pixels.
