Public Transit Listening Session Tonight
Important news from Celeste Deardorff, Manager of the Long Range Planning Division of the Community Development Department:
The Transit Listening Session for the Lakeland area, will be held tonight, February 28th, between 4:30 pm and 6:30 pm at the Coleman Bush Building located at 1104 MLK Jr. Blvd., West Meeting Room.
"As an open house format, you can stop in and leave as needed; there will be a brief slide show available from the transit directors attending (Tom Phillips, Citrus Connection, and Paul Simmons, Polk Co. Transit).
"All citizens who attend this session will have the opportunity to be listed as local supporters of transit and have your name entered as part of a drawing for a $200.00 prize.
"Many of our citizens depend upon the bus service for getting to work, getting to classes, getting to health care appointments and shopping/supporting our local businesses. The positive economic impacts of this service to our community are significant. If you choose to be part of the positive change in the future of our community, then we hope to see you Tuesday evening, and most importantly, we invite your input on how to best plan for, ensure and improve transit services in our community!"
