20 - Yangon

En hos sehir sanirim. Acikcasi Chiang Mai civarindaki bir haftadan sonra Yangon’a vardigimda biraz mutsuz ve yorgundum. Ama Yangon hic beklemedigim ve bilmedigim taraflariyla buldu beni ve farkettim ki gezme zevkim gezi tavsiyeleriyle parallel degil ve kimse demedi bana Yangon’un sokaklari ve binalari bu kadar ozel diye. Ve yeni yil yani Thingyan Myanmar’da bambaskadir.

I woke up that day at 4 and slept everywhere. I had a connection at Bangkok and everything was perfect. I arrived to the hostel at noon time I think and I loved the hostel, very clean and one of its kind. Single area with reception and beds and quite clean and comfortable: Travellr’s House : ***** (5 star). That day I was tired and didn’t do much except sleeping and trying to write some blogs but of course the internet is so slow. So I slept and meet with the Merve’s gang the other day at 15th April. 3th day of Thingyyan! and It was the day!

Aynen, sabah uyuduktan sonra iyice kalktim ve cantami hostelde birakip mervelere katildim. Yurumeye basladik yolda ve once Merve ve isvicreli kizimiz bindi kamyonete sonra da biz ve 2 saat dolastik etrafta. Yangon’da konsept soyle. Kamyonete atliyosun ailecek ve yolun kenarlarinda olan cilgin istasyonlara yanasiyorsun ve islaniyorsun. Chiang Mai’den farkli olarak Yangon’da festival butun sehire yayilmis durumda ve yaya eglenmek pek mumkun degil ve insanlar cilginca tazikli su kullaniyorlar. Araba yikama aletlerinden itfaiye hortumlarina kadar. CILGINN ve kulaklari gozleri korumak lazim. Lokaller havluya sarilarak cozuyorlar isi.

After meeting with the gang we ended up in a truck of a lovely local family. We drove around for 2 hours and had so much fun and alcohol. It was different here, they were only few tourists and all city was on the streets with their trucks. They were using auto cleaning hoses to hurt people more with water. It hurts a lot when you have it from 20cm, haha. At the end we ended up in a local house, where they invited us for lunch. A whealthy family donates food every day of the festival. We had our lunch. I didn't know that we not going to pay so I ate two dishes haha. They were quite happy to having us and really interested in us. We even turned on the music and had a little party with all the people: teenagers, tourists and elder people. Here is a picture with the family.

Ertesi gun de gelin dediler biz ayrilirken ve hem yemek veren aileden hem de kamyoneti olan aileden ayrildik ve bir basimiza geri donus yoluna girdik. Yolda surekli Mingalaba deyip durdum ve surekli guldum. 10 kat fazla gulumsemeyi ve merhabayi da haneme yazdim. Inanamazsiniz ne kadar ilgililer turistlerle ve nasil bagiriyorlar ve seviniyorlar bizi gorunce. Bir caddede gitar calan bir ekip vardi. Onlarla gitar bile calip soyledik. Wonderwall, Let It be, La Bamba ve en son bir Yedikule yapistirdim haha :). Yolda bir cok insanla etkilestik ve cocuklar cok mutluydu ve acayip guzeller Burma insanlari: kizi ve erkegi ve cocuklari ayri bir tatli. Bir tane platforma bile ciktik ve gecen kamyonetleri suladik ve cesitli muziplikler. Burda gencler bizim apaci generasyonu gibi aynen. Yuzler biraz farkli ama giyim kusam cok benzer. Arkadaslarla dans ettim sonra platformun onunde ve bir abi bana guzel kokan beyaz cicekli kolyelerden verdi. Mutluyum be! Oldukca mutlu! Eglene eglene geldik asil caddeye, inanilmaz kalabalikti, full of trucks.

Then I went back to my hostel and went out one more time to take some pictures. I had my phone in a safe place in Merve's bags and didn't use it almost during the day. So I need some pictures. I went back to the street trying to avoid the water with my phone and wallet in my hand. It was crazy. There was a concert and people were singing all together. This festival is for locals, which is much better than Thailand! Here are some pictures with people.

I chew my first Kwun-Ya in Myanmar, 15.04.2016

That night I ate with the staff of the hostel before joining the others. I walked to the Sude Pagoda and then took a local bus for 300 kyat. Nice bus! Then I was with the NTU gang. We drank a lot of beers that night and played drinking games. Just before me and Raj went for some Supper to the corner of 53th street and I ate my most delicious fried rice at an indian stall. I drank some ayran, but ayran shouldn’t be with sugar! wtf?!

Yani ingilizce yazmak istemiyorum bu kismi ozellikle. Myanmar'a gelip gece icme oyunu oynamak nedir ya. Butun bunlar sen kizla takil diye mi? Cok sacma, sevmedim lider tarzinizi. Sanirim kizlarla takilmayi daha cok seviyorum. Erkeklerle anlasmasi zor, ozellikle bazilariyla. O gece karar verdim bu grupla gezmek istemedigime. Yani gidip belki de en kotu yeri bulmuslar kalicak. Hayir ben yalniz basima daha iyiyim ve sizi ikna etmek istemiyorum. Oldukca icmis olmama ragmen sabah erkenden kalktim, Yangon'un o guzel sokaklarinda kostum. Inanilmaz bir yer burasi ya. 100 yil once resmen Asya'nin baskenti olan bir yer o butun buyuk avrupaii tas binalariyla, simdi yuvarlaniyor masumca ve turizm eli degmemis henuz. O buyuk binalarin bazilari renevo edilmis ve kullaniliyor. Bazilari da terkedilmis ve bitkiler kaplamis etraflarini. Orjinal bir kent Yangon ve bu tarafi yazmiyor hic bir yerde. Hayir o unlu Pagoda'ya gidemedim. Ama daha uzununa gittim ve ozel olan Yangon sokaklarda!

The other morning I ran in the beatiful streets of Yangon as I said above and took some pictures of the buildings. It's so funny that everyone was awake at 6:30. Yangoon sleeps early and woke up for the best time of the day. I even saw some people doing sport around Sude Pagoda. I got back and barely caught the train at 8 which goes to Naypyitaw to go to Hyp-an and get out at the touristic city called Bago.
