An intense burst of light blinds me before I roughly make contact with the ground, sprawled out on my chest. Wincing in pain, I open my eyes to find my self in some kind of massive crater. Picking myself up off the ground, I trudge up to the depression’s edge and gain a proper look at my surroundings. A gray, lifeless wasteland spotted with ruins that appear ancient, yet advanced stretches on for as far as the eye can see. Much to my horror, I examine my surroundings closer to discover a number of dislocated body parts, all with what appear to be huge bite marks on them. Even with my strengthened stomach, I can feel nausea creeping into me at the sight.
Alright, this one takes the cake. I have no earthly idea where I could possibly be, but people getting eaten is where I draw the line. This Time Tourism thing has officially gotten out of hand. Flicking my hand out, a tarot card manifests itself in the air above my open palm at my bidding. As if I needed anymore proof something was wrong, I can use my Persona here too. Seeing no other options available to me, I clutch my sword tightly and begin trudging along the wasteland toward the nearest of the bizarre structures.
It takes me an hour before I reach the gates. As soon as my foot makes contact with the masonry, a bullet embeds itself in the ground in front of me as a number of odd looking people in matching grey outfits come rushing out the doors with their firearms leveled at me. Among them is a man with large, braided locks of light blue hair toting a submachine gun, apparently leading the assembled guard. It takes me a second, but I observe that each of them has a bizarre tattoo plastered on a different point of their bodies. If nothing else, they match their surroundings.
Dropping my sword to the ground, I raise my hands in a gesture of surrender, silently hoping my physical resistance might apply to their bullets as well.
“Whoa, whoa, whoa!! Calm down! I’m not looking for any trouble!”
Hopefully, these strange individuals speak Japanese. Otherwise, I’m going to be in need of cover quite soon.
