the problem w me is that you can murder my entire family but if you say sorry nicely i will forgive you and buy you a sandwich
Is this......
An invitation?
so I know you've said you don't like baby jack, but what do you think about having it like Amara where he just grows up super fast? so then there's still a bit of them having a baby to take care of but it also doesn't erase Jack's character
(disclaimer: i think baby jack is fun and cute. i don't think you suck if you like him <3 he's nice!!! i like reading baby jack! this is from a critical perspective)
i literally don't care i think that fundamentally jack went good quick and i think that the fandom infantilizes him enough. i don't want him to have baby moments, i want him to have relatable emotions. people already (i think) struggle with relating to jack/conceptualizing him/characterizing him.
if they DID have that plotline where he grew up very quick i think that the remainder of the season would center around him being too young. jack's character is DEEPLY based around the fact that he was forced into a hunter/monster role and struggle within days of being born. he has too much responsibility. the world has kind of flayed him before he's even got the chance to face it. that's like. his entire thing.
DID DABB DO A GOOD JOB WITH IT? NO. any baby jack fic writer has my whole entire heart they did MUCH better work with his arc than dabb did. dabb treated jack the same way he treated sam and cas and jack's character is forever marked by that.
buttttt my interest in jack isn't honestly very much about his age or his relationships to sam, dean, or even cas. i think ultimately i don't want to see arcs about him being a baby or a son... i like to think about jack in the context of powers/faith/fear versus love. etc.
You've cried in a school bathroom stalls at least once in a coming of age moment (so did I ngl)
NOIFSNO SCSREAMIGN yes i have- my entire school experience has been a dramatic coming of age moment
